Why is Kevin Durant so overrated

First topic message reminder :

Durant is getting a lot of hype because the NBA is trying to market him as a replacement of Kobe Bryant as the future rival of LeBron James. He has horrible playmaking skills and is very turnover prone (3.6 turnover per game) despite not being the primary ballhandler on his own team. He also doesn't play a lick of defense. If Corey Maggette takes as many shots as he does, he would be just as good.

I'm a Cuse' fan pretty much Melo is my homie. But, even I say that Durant can be compared with Melo at this stage of both of their careers. Durant has earned that right.

How is Kevin Durant in any way overrated? He is the most efficient, and the most consistent scorer in the NBA. He lead the NBA in PPG at the age of 21. Saying he doesn't play a lick of defense roves that you have probably never seen him play. His defense has improved a lot this past year, especially his help defense. Also, it has improved enough for him to defend Kobe 1 on 1. Last year, we would have never had Durant defend Kobe. He gets nearly 8 rebounds a game. Yes, he is tall, but look at his frame. He's wire thiin. He doesn't need assists. He already has one of the top point guards in the NBA who's averaging 8 assists a game. Saying that he will never be like Kobe,LeBron,or Wade is BS cause e is ONLY 21. Its not like he's on the decline. At the rate he's in, its kind of scary to imagine how good he will be in a couple years, add a little more weight to that frame and you get a 3010 player. The Kid is also an amazing teammate, with a great attitude. He is a great leader, and has a good work ethic too. Saying Corey Freaking Maggette could average the same amount of points with as many shots as Durant gets is BS. I remember reading once that Kevin Durant has th highest TFG% in the league, which kkind of makes him one of the, if not THE most consistent scorer in the league. Just cause you take 20 shots a game doesn't mean you make them.

Thirdly, he's a great defender with 1.4 steals and 1 block per game. Of course, stats isn't everything. I dare you to watch Durant in 2008 and watch him in 2010 then tell me that his defense didn't improve like crazy.

Last and most important, Durant is only 21 years old. Imagine what he could do in his late 20's?
