Its probably like a protection for him...
If he plays well....he will buyout and get into the NBA..
If he fails there....then he will play out the contract....

This baffles he some much. The guy wanted to play NBA but now he doesnt. What a wimp, he is in tears because he didnt go to the big city. Like WTF, what did he expect? The clipper weren't going to draft him and really only NY were left and they were not going to pick him for the reason the were to far down.

The guys should of not entered as the Timberwolves will be pissed off now and they know that that trade between the Wizards has made them in a lot of strife

If I were the T-Wolves, I would offer him a looooong contract once he comes to the NBA, just to bench him, not seeing 1 second of NBA playing time.

I think Rubio is going to be a bust

he's nothing special and average 10 PPG,and 6 APG in Europe

he's not quick enough,and doesn't have the athletic ability or jumpshot too suceeded

he's not going to be that great at the NBA level

He's 18 with a good jumpshot overseas they call him a " Sharpshooter" Leave him open and he'll burry you. And he has like 10 years to develope a jumpshot. Your right about his quickness but these are all things that can be fixed by getting a Trainer in the NBA. And he got 10 ppg and 6APG in only 19 MPG in euro league, So if he came to the NBA to play and got minutes that Elite PG's get he'd average 22 ppg and 12APG.

The Euro League is almost nothing compared to the NBA. There's a lot more competition at every spot and the game is played differently here.

Rubio can't shoot.
That's his weakness.
He couldn't shoot to save his life.

He's the best ball handler and passer in the draft.. but he can't shoot.

Rubio is one of the worst-shooting guards Ive seen from overseas. Definitely his 2nd biggest weakness after on-ball defense.

He totally ruined the Twolves chances, with that pick they could have picked up Curry, Derozan, Earl Clark, so many other options.

And they were gonna have to pay big money for him anyway.

Rubio is an EXCELLENT on ball defender. he was defensive player of the year.....What the hell are you talking about? And rubios a good shooter also...people make it seem like he cant shoot worth a shit he's no steve nash,but he's no eric snow either.

Have you seen rubio play in an actual game? Rubio isnt a great shooter...but whydo you lk about him likes he's jason kidd or eric snow? Rubio can knock down shots.

Rubio would get his ass kicked on the court by the big athletic guards in the NBA, He needs to stay in Europe, he couldn't handle the NBA. Plus it was stupid for the Twolves to draft him, Jonny Flynn is much more impressive.
