Impressed by Andrew Bynum

I don't know if anyone saw Bynum's halftime interview, but I was really impressed by his explanation to the question and how he handled himself in the interview. Hes starting to come along quick into becoming an NBA superstar. Yes I said NBA "Superstar." I t looks now that he is the future of the Center position in the Western Conference.

I'm ok with him but Y/A Lakers fans over-rate him like crazy.When ever some other good Western Centers have great games like Oden,Kaman,Biedris,Okur we don't hear nothing about them but when ever Bynum has good game Lakers Fans explode


That's why Lakers fans aren't good fans.They under-rate every All-Star and other great potential who don't play in the Lakers

Thats true on Y!A, but that doesn't mean all Laker fans are like that. Plus, he is having a REALLY good season so far this year.

I know he's having good season and i;m glad also Oden is having good season yet no one talks about besides me

Oden has done alright, but Bynum is having an amazing season thus far. Here is his stat line for the best team in the Western Conference:

21 pts, 11.3 rbs, 2 ast, 1.5 blk, and 1 stl on 58% fg

Another very impressive stat is averaging only 2.8 fouls in nearly 40 minutes. (Oden averages 3.9 in just over 23 minutes)

Greg Oden's line for a good (not Laker caliber) Portland team:

10.1 pts, 10.7 rbs, .8 ast, 2.2 blk, and .3 stl on 62.7% fg

The impressive stat for Oden is his free throw percentage, which is currently at 81% (Bynum is shooting 68.8%)

Overall, I'd say that Bynum is having a monster season, whereas Oden is just having a decent one. I'm not surprised at all that Laker fans are so excited about his play, especially since they expected to suffer from missing Gasol.

Oden has to play defense without any contacts at all or else it's foul.Stern hates the Blazers so the refs have to go against Oden.

Anything that Oden defends,a little contact he makes it's a foul.There are some ridiculos fouls called on Greg and that's because of Stern.

I mean,the guy will be dominating center and will have great season but if Stern didin't hated him that much,he could also be 20/10 guy altrough he\s more of a defensive threat

I'm glad for Bynum and i mean it but i know Oden will do better so go Oden!

I support the centers in the league,i also support Biedris who's under-rated center as well

David Lee is still better than Andrew Bynum there I said it. I'd even take Andrew Bogut over Andrew Bynum, but I must admit that Bynum is headed in the right direction and will be a force to be reckoned with out West. However, I'd still say Yao Ming when healthy is the best C in the NBA.

Yeah,but there are other good centers in the West that will be great.

Andris Biedrins is a very, very, very solid & undersized C that doesn't get the respect that he deserves.

He's probably the most underrated center in the league now

Lee over Bynum? Biedrins over Bynum? Yao I can definitely understand, but Bynum has gotten good, as much as I hate to say it.

Visa, what do you have against Bynum?

Andrew has gotten a lot better so true there,other centers have gotten better as well.After all,we could see better big men then the big men like 2-3 seasons ago

David Lee is way more of a complete player than Bynum, doesn't get injured, and is way more consistent. Lee > Bynum!!!

Rebounding = Lee
Offense = Lee (Lee has a solidified mid-range game)
Free throws = Lee
Defense = Bynum
Double-Doubles = Lee
Passing = Lee (Lee is a good passer)
Athleticism = Lee

FG% = Depends (, but Lee takes too little shot attempts in my opinion. Harrington should stop shooting as much and especially Nate and run the offense through Lee on a more regular basis than taking it game to game.)

You're calling us bad fans??? WOW! I don't know if you're in the position to pass judgment.

Andris Biedrins and David Lee are definitely underrated, but there is a reason for that. Neither can take over or dominate a game, and Bynum already can. Thats impressive. I want to continue to see him progress for the same reason you do Darko, so that the big men of the league are not forgotten once again.

Have you seen Bynum this season? His offense is very well rounded. Amazing post game and and improving further away from the rim. With his size and physical presence, not to mention how good his footwork has gotten, he can absolutely take over on the offensive end. Another thing, is when you talk about both Biedrins' and Lee's rebounding, you have to remember that those numbers are inflated because of how many shots are put up in their games (not to mention how many more are missed because they play on poor efficiency teams). The Knicks and Warriors both play a very uptempo style of game, so it increases everyone's numbers. But Bynum is even rebounding very well so far this season. Another thing to remember is that Bynum is doing this for an 8-1 team, where as Lee's and Biedrins' teams are very poor. So he's doing as much or more on a MUCH better team.
