Celtcs are the wrong team to treat lightly.

if they really are just bored and waiting for the playoffs so they can finally come alive, then they could be a dangerous team. If they're using that as an excuse for why they're playing this poorly compared to last year/2 years ago.... then they're gonna fail in the playoffs... like the pistons did a few years ago.

Celtics have one more year. KG is still the key... he's not himself. I think this year to make the Finals.

unless Ray allen agrees to sign a 7 million dollar deal... he won't be back with the Celtics next year. They have said they are going to try and get younger... keeping allen would be doing the exact opposite.

I think they might go after joe Johnson this summer.

i agree with nick in that it is not smart to take the celtics lightly. celtics are a smart, very good defensive team. they can be an efficient offense, and with all of their parts healthy, they are still dangerous. they can bully u, and can defend almost any type of player because they do have versatility. their bench is decent, and of all the teams in contention, they have the biggest difference maker at point guard. they are by far the most experienced team, with players such as garnett, pierce, wallace, and allen. while that can be a detriment during the regular season, because of the pounding taken by an older body, it is almost always an advantage in the post-season. to me they are the bigger threat to the cavs this season, who no longer have the serious matchup issues with the magic (hedo gone, alston gone [both offensive leaders for the team]) that they did last season. remember, the celtics competed very well with the magic of last season without garnett and a much weaker bench than they have now. i look for them to at least make the conference finals if healthy. i actually think a cavaliers and celtics matchup would be a pretty good one.

assuming that the Hawks keep the 3rd seed and that the top 4 teams in the east win in the first round.. which is very likely.. the Celtics will be facing the cavs in the 2nd round.

The hawks have a very easy schedule for the rest of this season.. so there is a good chance that they'll keep that 3rd seed.

i don't trust the hawks. sounds mean, but i don't. they have no proven playoff contributors and the only thing they've ever really accomplished in the playoffs is take the 2007-2008 celtics team to 7 games (apparently they match up extremely well against them as they haven't lost to them this season), but it's only a half game lead, and that could easily disappear if the celtics are able to get their shit together. the celtics KNOW this is there last chance to get it done with the trio of allen, pierce, and garnett, and they're going to come out fierce no matter who they face in the playoffs. if they remain healthy, and pierce returns as expected, they are still a great team. just as good as any of the others in the nba. i would not be surprised if we saw them upset both cleveland and orlando in succession to reach the finals. they've upgraded their bench and it's just finally gotten healthy (daniels just returned from an injury that kept him out for over a month). ruling them out doesn't make sense.

Mike Bibby is very playoff proven he's a big time player in the postseason. He gave the Lakers a hell of a lot of trouble in that rivalry and single handedly won series for SAC like Minny.

37-13: won finals
60-22: won finals
59-23: won finals
58-24: won finals

the everyone being healthy part is obvious though... the spurs thing makes no sense

They never really went all out during the reg season. They made a late push at the end of the season and built momentum going into the playoffs, is what he probably means.
