arenas,durant,jefferson These guys are improving on D but there still bad defenders.

Dirk Nowitzki can play defense that's a common misconception that he can't, but in actuality he is much improved on the defensive side of the ball.

I'd have to say Dirk is a really poor defender. I've watched him play many times and on D just can't hold his ground

He's only gotten slower and older. He trys to play defense,He cant defend. Ask J about how pathetic dirks defense is.

Good list KONJ that's all that's missing from Lee's game he needs to work on his D, but other than Hughes/Duhon/Douglas, and Jeffries (Jeffries is a lost cause offensively) who doesn't need to work on their D in NY? The way D. Lee played up to DH12 he should defend like that every game or at least close to every game.

I agree. Dirk is not a good defender, he's not petrified wood... but he's not a good individual defender. He almost made my list, but Tom Chambers' form of defense was to score as many points as he could hoping that the guy guarding him would be too worn out to play offense.

Oh man... totally forgot about Antoine Walker... I second that one fo' sho'!

His defense was to look at people play D go out to the offensive side and just chuck up 3's rather than um drive it a bit. And then when it went in he'd do that little shake of his. Not a Mark Jackson shake, but a congratulatory shake nonetheless. Toine' did not play a lick of defense.

Remember Wally Szczerbiak when he was putting up good scoring #'s on Minnesota's bench? Man after a couple years in Seattle, Boston, and Cleveland he's nowhere right now. Do you think somebody will sign him or he'd be like a Latrell Sprewell type. Still technically a FA, but old enough to say he's retired without actually saying so. I mean unlike Sprewell Wally never said off-putting/selfish things.

Antoine Walker wasn't that great I'd agree. The Boston Celtics with Walker and Peirce when they would jack up 3's non stop were one of the sloppiest basketball teams I've ever seen.

Walker was non existent on D. I agree with Sczerabiak's D. He was a terrible defender.

Vince Carter can make alot of peoples lists for all offense no defense too. Hes always been an explosive and really great scorer but not that great of a player on D

Yao is 7'6", he should be average more than 2 BPG.
Redd is an amazing offensive player, and if he can simply make, just, 2nd defensive team, he might rise again.
Gordon can rain threes, but on defense, you can sense something. Kind of like, "I'll let you score 2 points, 'cuz I'll score 3."

Yao plays defense FYI, if he doesn't average more than 2 blocks per game despite being 7'6'' doesn't mean he is a bad defender. So by that logic you think Birdman is better defender than Garnett because he averaged more blocks than KG?
