There is a difference between being socially tolerant (me)..then there is another thing where you go out of your way to speak up for murder or speak up for homosexuality...both immoral things..I don't know your moral character so you may very well be immoral so thats why you do speak up for these things but if you aren't, leave speaking up for immoral things to immoral people.

With the NBA conference finals and the draft lottery coming up I could care less about the Suns owner's sexual preference......hell this is the first time I even ever heard of him

1. NY Rangers bad boy Sean Avery speaks in favor of same sex marriage last week.
2. Hockey Agent Todd Reynolds speaks against it.
3. Rick Welts, Suns CEO says "I'm gay".
4. CNN anchor Don Lemon says "I'm gay".

Meanwhile DADT is about to be officially overturned.

My take is twofold. While it is commendable to see that players in the Suns organization supports Welts though he's gay, it's a completely different thing to see if players can accept a fellow player who is gay. Everyone is saying the right things, but will they not care about bedroom stuff if a teammate is gay? That is a better question. Given that most NBA players are Black American, and Black American culture, especially for men revolves more heavily around having huge swagger and machoness than other cultures do (though it's there for everybody), I don't see this being easy for any gay player in the NBA (there have to be some) to say so publicly and not face some type of repercussion (not physical harm or overt mental abuse, but there are other more subtle ways to throw people under the bus).

Personally, I don't really care if a coworker is gay, and gay men generally don't check out every man that's walking down the street, just like straight men don't check out every woman walking down the street. There are creepy gays out there like some of the priests who play with boys' little toys, but there are also creepy straight guys out there too, like the French IMF head who chases a maid in a hotel suite to give her VIP treatment.
