Do you think that prime Allen Iverson is better then prime Kobe Bryant?

Hm.............This got me really thinking,this is skills,no rings,not anything else.How would prime Kobe do vs prime Iverson

Points:Tough to one to say

Both of them are excellent scorers,Iverson led the league 4 times and Kobe led it 2 times.Allen is fantastic driver to the rim,can score a lot,gets lots of FT shots,great crossover machine and fast player but his scoring weakness was his FG%.Kobe,great shooter,good driver,good hyghflyer and good shooter but his shooting streaks were and still are problem.Depends how he gets it.

Assists:Allen Iverson

I would say Allen because he got his team mates involved more then Kobe and averged 7 APG in his career a lot of times

Defense:Close,but to me it's Iverson.Kobe plays better on ball defense but Iverson was good on ball defender and great at getting steals.He led the NBA in steals as well

Also,in their macth ups Iverson was fantastic,including that 1st Finals game vs the Lakers in 2000.With no acomplishments in,pure skills on the table,i would say Iverson

Okur isn't bad on defense? I wasn't aware of that, hahahaha.

But when you're talking about A.I.'s defense, you're talking about the smallest guy on the floor, always guarding someone bigger, and sometimes having to guard 6'6-6'7 guys at the shooting guard spot. Of course the bulk of his defensive ability is going to be in steals. He got a lot of steals though, and threatened passing lanes as much as any other player in the NBA. Obviously you're not expecting someone who weighs 165 to be able to play great defense against 200+ pound guys with 4+ inches on him. For his size, and when he was matched up against players his size, he was actually a pretty decent defender.

He just flat out gives up on defense...
He "rests" on defense...and then picks it up on offense..
He gambles at really really really times....
He just doesn't give the effort on defense...

I've already said, that's what he could bring to the table as a defender. The reason he does it, though, he wins as much as he loses.

AI is a very intelligent player....but for some reason....he doesn't use that on the defensive side of the ball....

Iverson is a good defensive player. But if he wants to be compared with the upper tier of swing men, like Wade, Bryant, West, Jordan, he'd have to twice as good as he is on defense than he already was.

I go my hardest on defense, fast breaks, rebounding, and loose balls though.

Offense doesn't amuse me. Offense is about moving, throwing, and catching to get the ball in the basket. Defense is about toughness, will, and defending what's yours.
