The're doing a pretty good job IMO filling there needs.
I think there is going to be the hype period in the begining were erveryone is sharing and laughing and it'll look real easy for Miami. But can they sustain that through a whole season?
To their credit I've never heard of Wade, Bosh or James being a locker room cancer (though we've seen how James can act as a teammate)...
It's all about chemistry for the Heat. If that chemistry gets shook or someone starts to feel unhappy about their role it could make things harder for them.
Plus, IMHO... I don't think much of Bosh/James defensively. They could both become better defenders. If they make that step next year than everyone is in trouble.*
Defense wins titles.

PG - Mario Chalmers SG - Dwyane Wade/Mike Miller SF - Lebron James PF - Chris Bosh/Udonis Haslem C - Zydrunas Ilgauskas
As far as I know, their rookies are not signed yet, and can you sign rookies if you puts you over the cap? Because they are already over the cap with only 7 players. All I see now is vets' minimum...bring in the dinosaurs!

Udonis off the bench for the first time in forever, I don't think him and Bosh will cope well. And it's not like Bosh will be traded or anything, so say bye bye to Haslem. I'm pretty sure anyone who will ever back-up Wade or James will ever get playing time. Big Z, like we've established in other topics, isn't necessarily a Championship team's C, but who knows? And then there is Chalmers. In my mind a really bad PG, and if Wade and James are to be bringing the ball down, than wouldn't that make Chalmers pretty much useless? I mean, his defense is over-rated, while it's not even thought of that highly. Teams who have weapons all over the court (Boston; Los Angeles; Dallas; Chicago; Orlando) will absolutely kill this team at the PG and C positions (Rondo/Perkins; Fisher/Blake/Bynum; Kidd/Haywood; Rose/Noah; Nelson/Howard). And yeah, there is James, Wade, and Bosh with their offensive skills, but they have to SHARE the ball. They are not going to be average (if I'm correct) 28, 26, and 24. More like, 22, 21, and 20. And with very good defenders on them (Allen/Pierce/Garnett; Bryant/Artest/Gasol/Odom; Kidd/Butler/Nowitzki; Rose/Deng/Boozer; Carter/Barnes/Lewis).
For example, I'll put my money on Rondo and Perkins (guarded by Z and Chalmers) will do so much to keep up with The Miami Big 3 (guarded by the Boston Big 3), while Boston's Big 3 puts up so much to just make it an obvious win. And I'm pretty sure Chalmers and Z can't do crap being guarded by Rondo and Perkins.
They still need to add a good defensive center and to have a nice chemistry. But the Lakers are still the team to beat. This Heat team will win couple of championships

Or unless they face a C (like Howard/Bynum) that will completely rape them in the playoffs, or when they face a good defensive team (like Boston/LA) that will shut them down (well not completely, but to much less than they can do)

I had this big long post about how wade and lebron would score 50, and bosh would score 30 and a few of the role players would get minor point totals themselves(like 4, 8, 9, and 11 points) which would add up to 160. and it was a cool reply. But chris posted before i did, and instead of hitting send again.. i hit the banner. So now its not here anymore. sorry ):

Lebron himself could stop Pierce COMPLETELY and still score 30-40 a night. Wade can do it. I don't even remember when was the last time that Pierce got slowed down SO MUCH. Even Artest couldn't hold him for that amount of games nor minutes. So you have 2 players out of the game automatically.
Then you don't know who to double team, for ex. Celtics were doubling Lebron all the time and he still scored 30's. now if they double someone the other will score 50.
Much else but i don't feel like posting more.

That won't happen though. It's a once-in-a-season thing to have 2 players score 30 on the same team. If Lebron scores 50, Bosh and Wade aren't getting 20. If Lebron scores 30, Wade will probably get like 25 and Bosh 15. Their averages are gonna get destroyed. I think it will be like:
Wade: 25 PPG Lebron: 20 PPG Bosh: ...not a lot

Put Perkins on Bosh and he probably isn't gonna score 15.
As for Lebron and Wade, good point

Oh I know. I wasnt really expecting it to happen. But it'd be cool. Last year i remember brooks, scola and martin each scored 30. I bet that happens three times this year. I put 4 dollars on it
I can see the Heat winning the championship this year as long as they throw egos out the door and come hard and ready to win. They have what it takes to win now...even with their current roster. I am not too fond of this team right now but biases aside...they are definitely one of the teams to beat this season.

They won't win a title if they can't solidify the inside, Chris Bosh isn't a physical presence nor is he an elite defender that can go up against the likes of K.G, Dwight in the East, let alone handle the length of the Lakers.
Offensively that team obviously go alot of firepower, but keep in mind there is only 1 ball on the court so they are going to have to share and their production individually is going to suffer. Defensively their perimeter has by far the best 1-2 defensive force, but the same problem goes back to not having a legit center that's going to lock the lanes and prevent 2nd chance rebounds, in the end if the other team's owning the paint and getting layups after layup, the Heat likely won't win a title by just sheer offensive power.
The most legit big man on the market right now is Shaq, but unless he is willing to take a huge pay cut and put aside whatever little rift he and Wade has I don't see him coming back to South Beach. I think they will probably end up getting Brad Miller, and it's going to be interesting to see how the Miller-Bosh frontline measures up against the other elites.

Subject: Re: 2010-2011 Miami Heat Sat Jul 17, 2010 12:10 am
Well, for one, the Heat will lose in every rebounding margin by sooooooo much.
Two...:
A. Vs. Boston Well, let's go to rebounding first. Perkins+Garnett+O'Neal+Davis on the boards just absolutely dominates, I mean KILLS, Miami. If you want to focus on one of the main 3 things (other than teamwork, 1. Offense, 2. Defense, 3. Rebounding), it's definitely rebounding. Secondly, Perkins+Rondo being guarded by Chalmers and Ilgauskas? Uhm, I can honestly see Rondo scoring on Chalmers. All day. Where Perkins can EASILY bully his way through for easy buckets, unlike against Bynum/Gasol (when he plays C), Howard, Yao, and guys like Okafor, Jefferson, etc. etc. Number 3, if Rondo is playing on Chalmers and Perkins is playing on Ilgauskas, imagine how much help they would bring on defense. It's not like Chalmers or Ilgauskas will be dropping 20 or anything, and everytime Wade drives, Rondo and Perk, one is covering the pass, and one is helping to cover Wade. Same with LeBron. As for the two "Big 3's". Garnett just completely shuts down Bosh. Believe it or not, KG is still one of the best defenders (right there with Bryant, Artest, Battier, Howard). Ray Allen, who did a really good job on the league's (imo) best offensive player in the Finals, is guarding Wade. Wade isn't as versatile with his body nor is he as good a jump shooter (which Kobe literally raped Ray Allen with, even with a hand in his face) like Bryant is. All he does really and naturally is drive, where Perkins and Rondo, and the whole rest of the team collapse's in to help. That holds Wade to even less. Same with LeBron, only LeBron has an advantage because Pierce is a lot slower and not really too good at defense. But like we've all been saying for so long, 1 man does not make a team. And neither does 1 and a half really. And besides, I'd rather have Rondo being guarded by Chalmers, Wade having to chase down Allen (actually, the reason Kobe guarded Rondo instead of Allen isn't because Rondo is more of a threat, but because Kobe would get tired chasing Allen down, and he is LA's only 25+ scorer. This would tire Dwyane a LOT) everywhere, Pierce getting shut down by LeBron, Garnett being guarded by Bosh (Garnett takes this easily), and Perkins dominating Ilgauskas.
Im too lazy to make B, C, D, E, F (LAL, Orlando, OKC, Denver, Chicago). lol. I'll try later on when im real real bored.
