Pippen could put down Michael Jordan. That is nowhere near overrated. Pippen was a beast of a talent if he was on some other team he'd have the ball 90% of the time and could kill you on both sides of the ball. Pippen and Hill (Hill was beyond beastly) revolutionized the game for guys, like LeBron, Prince, Odom, Turkoglu, etc. {point-forwards}

Pippen would have easily won a championship w/o MJ because he was drafted by SEA. If Pippen stayed in SEA he would have been the missing piece to great SEA teams in the 90's. SEA's defense was beastly and they showed that in the Finals against CHI. That was one of the most evenly matched championships I've ever seen and the 67 win Sonics gave the 72 win Bulls a lot of fight. Could you imagine if Pippen never came to CHI and he went to CHI to team up with a legendary GP, a sharpshooter big in Schrempf, an athletic monster in Kemp, etc. ?

Michael Jordan, Phil Jackson, and their Chicago Bulls teammates all admitted that Pippen went hard against Jordan and shut him down in very heated one on ones. I'm a Knicks fan and can tell you that the year MJ left to play baseball it was like the Bulls never missed a beat w/o him and Pippen was just phenomenal. They nearly had the same record then they did a season before when MJ was there and almost won the Conference's best record missing out on this by just 1 game. Pippen should have been MVP, but Hakeem was more than a worthy choice.

I'm a Knicks fan and I can tell you that NY escaped the Bulls in 7 in the semis out of sheer luck. Pippen was amazing and we escaped a possible loss in that series due to a phantom foul that largely benefited us. Bulls could have gone to the Finals that year they were very close. Pippen carried them all throughout that season as did Toni Kukoc, Steve Kerr, etc.

No, Pippen is a Top 50 all-time player. And even if he's not, are you going to tell me that Vince Carter is???

The old school is in a lot of time better then the new school players.The new school players don't have enoguh stamina to play over atleast 30 MPG while guys like Wilt,Russell,Big O were playing over 42 MPG at worse....

Defense:

Pippen beats so easily here Carter because Scottie is the greatest perimeter defender ever.He was very good rebounder too and good at getting steals thanks to presure defense.He was a stopped,he could slow/stop MJ at times and that's rare thing to do.....

Offense:Still Pippen

Offense isn't all about scoring.Yeah,Vince was way better scorer then Pippen but Scottie was a playmaker,a leader something that Carter will never ever be close to it.He was the point guard in that Bulls team and lead his team well.Like Tony said Pippen(and healthy Hill) revolutionized the game for other point forwards

Rebounding:Still Pippen

Scottie could pull more rebounds then VC could

Leadership:Pippen

When MJ retired couple of times,Pippen role as a leader was increasing and he made a big impact with it in that mighty Bulls team which was without Jordan but still dominating

I totally disagree with you men.Vince Carter never played defense and Scottie is the best perimeter defender of the NBA ALL TIME.Vince is just better scoreer and shooter nothing else men.
His defense sucks.When he plays against Wade,Kobe,Roy they always score a lot of points against him.And how can he be better than Pippen without defense.
