Which is the better player:Larry Bird or Earvin 'Magic' Johnson

This is great question and i would want to hear your opinions about this post.I asked it couple of times on Y/A but i couldn't get really good answers since all of them bias Lakers fans.Now that we have a forum of great users i hope i can get good answers

Who the fuck said Kidd can't finish in the paint...if anything..Nash with his wimpy little one-handed layup has a difficult time finishing in traffic...
And yeah...I'll easily take a PG who can't shoot (only 3pt btw for Kidd) over someone who can't defend...

About the Best team..hmmm, i dont know and i dont care what Lakers doing at the Finals or how many Final performances they have i just know one thing, 9-2.

Im a Celtic's fan, why should i care what the rivarly team does or whatever team?
I know my teams history so i know that we won 9 out of 11 times the Lakers at the nba finals and another 8 times other teams..

I have Magic now.I have seen tons of excellent opinions in here but i take Magic because of his passing,leadership,versality and all around game.He's second in triple doubles and was good scorer too.Johnson is the all time leader in APG and To's per game although he wasn't a good shooter he developed a decent mid range jumper before he got HIV

Larry Bird was the bette shooter,rebounder,post player and had better IQ.Bird was a sharp shooter but good passer,rebounder,defender and leader as well.I like Larry,he was a monster but Magic was sligtly better

I personally feel Bird was better just my opinion.

Magic was great though and the best leader in the game. In his own right Larry Bird was a great leader too and underrated in that aspect which people don't mention. Bird is the best 3 point shooter in NBA history as well. Not to knock Magic but jumpshooting is an area he didn't really excel at. Magic may be the best passer of all time though.

Bird was a better skilled player to me. Bird was not athletic at all and only had a 28 inch vertial. He made up for that lack of athleticism with his superior skill. He was a tremendous rebounder as well, and was a solid passer.

It's close but I personally prefer Larry Bird and feel hes the 2nd best of all-time to MJ with Magic being 3rd

I'm not touching this at all. They're both my two favorite players of all time.

The NBA was saved by Bird and Magic. Before them people referenced the NBA as a druggie league and it's fan base had moved on to MLB and the NFL.

Jordan carried on from Magic and Bird... but they saved the league.
