Harriet Tubman freed over 500 slaves, alone. During that time, slaves where sold for anywhere from 500$ to 2500$ a piece! She by herself had a devastating effect on the southern economy. The fact is that she was a thief! Ask yourself..how is it any different than an animal rights activist stealing cattle? It's not!

An agricultural economy can not support itself and be powerful in an industrial world...so the slaves were gonna have to go sooner or later.

Oh, and it's probably better to have a Civil War in the 1800s than to have one now, because we're already in another way and there's more powerful weapons and whatnot
