Thank you L.A. Lakers for this guy. He's more of a combo G than a pure PG but with hardwork & dedication a journeyman turned NBA champion & All-Star in Chauncey Billups proved that he can turn himself into a PG from his SG-eque begininngs then so can Toney Douglas. He already proved he can takeover and carry his team and the game offensively and takes pride and is passionate about his d. All he has to do is continue to mature and work on his PG instincts mainly better playmaking.

No way I'm comparing Douglas to Chauncey but I can compare Douglas's dedication and wanting to work hard to that of Chauncey. I see a lot of dedication in Douglas. And that could help him make the transition to being seen more as a SG to more of the PG he can be. That's what helped Billups.

My favorite Douglas rookie season moment is not the random good minutes he received and scored 20 point games in the beginning of the season leading NY in scoring against Utah and NJ. because he was played sporadically back then and racked up a lot of DNP-Coach's decision. My favorite game of his was when he played against Philly and was absurd in the 4th Qtr. scored 14 of his 16 points scored in the 4th Qtr in that quarter (Knicks last 13) & finished the game with 22. He also had the defensive play of the night with a big steal.
