| This is a big question. Whether or not Griffin should be in the All-Star game in LA. Since 1990 Hill, Shaq, Duncan and Yao have done it so it isn't very uncommon. I'm a bit biased towards him and i think he should.
What do you think? | |

| The coaches might get him in.
Who knows?
The West has a lot of forwards to chose from. Many with better teammates and overall W/L records if not better numbers than Griffin. Griff has those crazy numbers tho...
I wouldn't care one way or the other.
He'll be an All-Star soon enough.

| He shall, because the fans won't let the *best" dunker who is on ESPN 24/7 with his highlights not be in the all-star game. | |

Are you saying he's more deserving than Dirk Nowitzki, Pau Gasol, Tim Duncan, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, etc.?
I think he'll make it, but he does not deserve it.

Gasol might start at center w/ Dirk at power forward. Agree wholeheartedly about Love.

| Well as it stands right now after the third ballot was returned the starters would be:
Kobe Paul Durant Melo' and Yao... but since Ming is injured for the year it'll be Bynum, who is 200,000 votes ahead of Nene.
Gasol is listed at PF and will not be starting at center... so the Gasol starting at center or starting at all doesn't even matter unless he can muster up some more votes or Melo' gets traded before the All-Star game.

Gasol is listed at PF and will not be starting at center... so the Gasol starting at center or starting at all doesn't even matter unless he can muster up some more votes or Melo' gets traded before the All-Star game. I'm pretty sure that if the voted-in starter is out, the gig goes to a coach-chosen player, and not the next highest vote-getter. In this case, it would probably be Gasol or Duncan (Popovich is likely going to be coach of the West). So starting line-up (as it stands now): Paul Kobe Durant Melo Gasol/Duncan Popovich chooses the bench so, even if Duncan doesn't start, he makes the team, and he's not going to leave Gasol off. So here's the bench: Gasol/Duncan (as C) Dirk (F) D-Will (G) Ginobili (G) Parker (Util) That leaves a spot for a forward and a utility. The players with the best shot at the two spots are: Nash Odom Griffin Randolph/Gay Westbrook Love Whichever player is most deserving from Portland (only current playoff team w/o an all-star) I think Griffin deserves it, and with the game in LA, I think Popovich puts him and Odom in the final two spots. I think there's little chance for Love, a decreasing chance for Nash (Suns suck), and only an average shot for Westbrook, Randolph, and Gay. You also have to factor in the chances Popovich doesn't hand-pick 3 Spurs (not very likely), and Melo is no longer in the West (much more likely). Those situations would open a couple spots up.

Gasol will come off the bench as a PF, and not starting as a C

| Gasol may play center.... Like Ryan just said, if the voted in starter is out(Yao), the spot goes to a coach chosen player, and not the next highest voted player. Which would probably be Gasol...
