What can Josh Smith do that isn't based mostly on his ability to jump high?

Get 10 assists, like today.

Smoove is probably the best passer on our team.

He got 10 today, but is averaging 3.6. That's not very many...

He can dunk...because he can jump high
He can block...because he can jump high
He can rebound...because he can jump high
His 3.6 assists per game is good
He shoots 62% from the free throw line...because you can't dunk the ball on free throws

Yes, Birdman's performance is also based on the fact that he can only jump high (and he's tall)

By the way, Birdman shoots almost 10% higher than Smith at the free throw line...and he's a center

Smoove does a lot more than what shows on the stat sheet man. Pick and rolls, help defense, just the amount of effort he gives..compared to..say last year is incredible. But, using your logic, since jumping is the only thing he is good at, why isn't tyrus thomas any good?

Almost every player in the NBA does pick and rolls/help defense...

Tyrus Thomas is good...8/6/2 coming off the bench is good...but all he can do is jump high.

Bottom line is that Josh Smith is good because of his jumping ability

I just saw the behind the back pass to JJ by Smith which gave him an assist..it was clearly travel.

So it shouldn't count as a 3-double

He bounces the ball and after the bounce he takes 2 steps and stops, he should have lay it up or gives it directly..he stops for a bit.

Yes, basically the Thrashers and Devils had an NHL version of Amare for young talent trade, fortunately not like a Jamison for Zyrdrunas (and waive him back to Cleveland) trade....

Thrashers are still in the thick of the race right now, just three points from the 8 seed, still 21 games left to play. Kovalchuk will be an asset for New Jersey, which is like DC, Excellent Hockey, Pitiful NBA basketball.. The trade at least gives them young talent for the future but they're probably out of the playoffs....

Right now, you will see deals like this in the NHL as teams are building to fight Ovechkin, Backstrom, Semin, Green, Varly and Co. At least one team here is the envy of the nation!

You have point but judges maybe didn't see that...

it's weird how a lot of people are talking about Josh Smith as DPOY but he doesn't get voted into the all-star game..

I would rather see him than KG cuz KG hasn't really been himself this year..

I dont see why Josh Smith only being good because of jumping should keep him out of the allstar game.

LeBron's only good because he's althletically gifted.
Chris Paul is (mostly) only good because he's the quickest player in the league
Same goes for Tony Parker, only good becaue he's got quickness and speed

Just because a player is good because of some certain ability shouldn't be counted against them...
