Minnesota Timberwolves

Who owns them?
Glen Taylor is the owner of the team. He is the head of the Taylor Companies, which is a business offering printing, publishing, and marketing solutions to other businesses. He was a state senator in Minnesota and served as minority leader from 1985-1987. He is no longer in politics unlike the Bucks owner.

Does Ownership own other teams and facilities?
Yes. Taylor also owns the WNBA's Minnesota Lynx since its founding in 1999. The Wolves and the Lynx do not own the Target Center, which is owned by the City of Minneapolis.

Do I think that Ownership is doing a good job?
I think the Wolves are doing the worst job in the NBA in terms of on the court direction. With most teams in a rebuilding phase, you have a definite idea that at least one player will be either the franchise player or at least a core player. The Nets have such a guy in Robin Lopez. the Wizards have one in John Wall. The Wolves thought Al Jefferson was going to be the guy, then decided that Kevin Love and Al couldn't play together but they did get tow first round picks.... I guess they're just trying to get a bunch of young guys and meddling until Ricky Rubio comes to the NBA, which he will do soon.

On the court the Wolves have actually averaged about 80% capacity in the year before and after the KG/Jefferson trade so they haven't done that badly, but I can't see fans getting excited when there is no clear young guy this team wants to build around given how many moves they're making...... The front court looks promising perhaps with Kevin Love (must keep) and Darko Milicic (actually hitting some of his potential now).

You'd think that the Minnesota Lynx are heading in the right direction at least, but they too look just as clueless over the last several years, and they haven't made the playoffs since 2004, but they do get the 1st pick in the 2010 draft next year....
