| What's all the hype about him for? He's only a larger version of Ray Allen on offense, and on defense/rebounding he's mediocre like David Lee.
Kevin Durant is Top 10, but he is not Top 5.
1. LeBron James 2. Dwayne Wade 3. Kobe Bryant 4. Chris Paul 5. Dwight Howard

| Well how about the fact he lead the nba in scoring last year and he was only 21? | |

| and how is he a bigger version of allen? I know allen wasnt always a spot up shooter(still might not fall into that category) but durant scores from every angle and creates his own shot as well as anybody in the nba. | |

Scoring a bunch of points while your other accolades are poor, doesn't exactly make his case any better for him, even if he is only 21yrs of age. That is why I made the argument that he's only a big ass version of Ray Allen and Richard Hamilton.

Ray Allen is quite possibly the best spot up shooter in the NBA from the field and 3-point land. Kevin Durant "rarely" creates for himself, and when he does he's very turn over prone (One of the most at his position).

| Lead the nba in scoring last year shooting 47.6% from the floor, 36.5% from three, 90.1% from the FT line .gets to the line 10 times a game too, so he's really in no way a spot up shooter and definately creates his own shot. He gets 7.6 boards a game. Thats the 2nd best for a SF in the league. 2.8 apg, but he's not a point forward. they have a PG. 1.4 spt and 1.0 bpg, so he can create turnovers. and he uses his length to his advantage on defense. He does turn the ball over a lot though, not surprising. He was only 21 last year.
definately a top 5 player.

| ray allen and RIP are shooters...KD is a scorer. your dumb as a pile of mini-water balloons. Kevin is the 2nd best scorer. One of the better rebounding SF. Is a 90% ft shooter (only way he resembles ray allen). and is a solid defender. how you could put CP3 or dwight in front of him is beyond me. Too me he's even better than dwayne wade. And "kevin durant "rarely" creates for himself" Is probably the most retarded thing iv'e ever heard in my life...so who creates for him? and he averages 3 topg...thats really not even that bad. | |

At least you aren't falling for this crap.
Kevin Durant is nothing more than a big ass Ray Allen. Ron Artest SHUT HIM DOWN last post-season because all he could do was shoot, while it was PRESENT he wasn't a good defender nor passer.
Matter of fact, he reminds me a lot of Ray Allen AND Carmelo Anthony.

I wouldn't say that. Kevin Durant is one-sided, and without scoring, what else is he useful for? We saw after Ron-Ron shut him down last year how useless he was for his team.

Just put a decent defender on Durant and he's out of the game. Seriously, all he does is score. He doesn't rebound well, he doesn't get assists, he doesn't shoot well, and he doesn't get a good amount of steals and blocks, or plays any defense. The Thunder belong to Russell Westbrook and Jeff Green, not sucky Durant.

:lol!:
All jokes aside, Russel Westbrook's breakout performance and Kevin Durant countless going to the FT-LINE, is what took the Lakers to 6.

| I'm not joking...seriously Westbrook can kill any PG you put up against him. Put a good perimeter defender on Durant, he's useless. He can't score, and that makes him trash. He can't even contribute anywhere else, like on rebounds. He won't get good looks, so his 48% field goal percentage and his 37% free throw percentage mean nothing..a good defender won't foul too often so his outstanding 90% free throw percentage won't mean much...he doesn't even grab alot of boards or pass or play defense. He's like Coby Karl, but a little better | |

| Durant can do things on offense that only few people in the NBA have ever been able to do. Most guys have gone through entire careers not being able to get the numbers that Durant averages just for one game. Of course, a lot of guys can do this, but 30/8/3/1.4/1 is beast. How did Ron shut him down? Last time I checked, 25 points and 8 rebounds is pretty good, considering he is playing against the Lakers (Kobe, Artest, Gasol defending you is pretty fucking hard to beat). http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/gamelog?playerId=3202Look at this dude's game log. Sick. Nasty. Nobody is able to do that as being a bigass Ray Allen. I doubt Ray Ray could ever put up those numbers throughout a season. Also the 7.6 rebounds for a Small Forward, and the 1.4 steals and 1.0 blocks, all show he is not one-sided. | |

| Yeah his rebounding really sucks. Nearly 8 RPG is pretty darn bad for a SF. Right?
On offense? Other than Kobe and Carmelo he is the most lethal scorer in the NBA. He can score on ANYBODY. Ron Artest was the only one who slowed him down but you have to remember...that's RON ARTEST in KD's first PLAYOFF series...against THE LAKERS. You know....the defending NBA champions.
His defense? I won't say its great but it has immensely improved. His length creates various turnovers and he plays solid help defense. He gets around 1.5 SPG and about a block a game. 3 assists? Last time I checked the Thunder had some guy named Russell Westbrook..you know...8 assists per game. One ofthe best young point guards in the league. He plays small forward not point guard. Not every small forward in the game is like LeBron....
Durant is easily one of the best shooters in the NBA today. Lethal from everywhere on the floor, and great from the free throw line. Not to mention he's 21 years old. Youngest scoring champion ever. Extremely consistent player. Very efficient day in and day out.
At 21? With the work ethic he has? Scary thought really.
BTW...definitely top 5.
