| Durant is getting a lot of hype because the NBA is trying to market him as a replacement of Kobe Bryant as the future rival of LeBron James. He has horrible playmaking skills and is very turnover prone (3.6 turnover per game) despite not being the primary ballhandler on his own team. He also doesn't play a lick of defense. If Corey Maggette takes as many shots as he does, he would be just as good. | |

| Good god..... You need to get off whoever ESPN is riding...
Durant is a 21 yr old KID who just won the scoring title....
Even your god Lebron couldn't do that....

| Because he averaged 30 points and 8 rebounds a game on 48% FG shooting, 37% 3P shooting, and 90% FT shooting. | |

Who was better at 21? Umm...lets see. 1 PPG more. oooooh! such a big deal Durant has more RPG. But not enough to care. And sure he doesn't have as many assists.....but he also has one of the budding players in the league as his PG in Westbrook. And who the hell says "inferior"? Are you fucking middle school? WTF

Who was better at 21? Well since you're praising Lebron so much on your other thread, he's obviously very good, even better than Jordan. So looking at the fact that Durant averaged about the same points and rebounds, while shooting a higher percent must mean that Durant is on par with Jordan, right?

| Anyway, what does Lebron have to do with this? Comparing Durant's stats to one of the best players in the NBA's to say that he is overrated is pretty unfair (even though the stats are relatively similar) | |

WTF LeBron James averaging more points total average than Kevin Durant, but still contributing on play making and rebounding is what sets them two apart from each other. Inferior, give LeBron James Kevin Durant's roster and he'll surely bring the Thunder to the top of the elite in the West like he did with the CAVS in the east. LeBron James 2010 free agency has come and it's the most anticipated. Why? King James.

| You also have to take into account statistically that Durant shot the same FG percent, but a 4% higher three point percent and 17% higher from the free throw line ( ) | |

It only shows Kevin Durant is one-sided and will never be a Kobe Bryant, Dwayne Wade, or LeBron James.

Kevin Durant is one-sided. He's all about scoring. LeBron James leads his team in all major categories or is 2nd/3rd in all categories on his team.

| Durant is getting hype because... shocker... he's kinda' good.
He deserves the credit he is getting.
The NBA isn't trying to make Durant a replacement for Bryant. Durant is getting notice because he took a team that everyone thought would be a lottery team to the playoffs in the Western Conference. That's pretty impressive. They were also the biggest scare the Lakers faced until the Lakers faced Boston.
Kevin as replacement for Bryant doesn't even make sense considering that they aren't even the same type of player nor do they have the same game. Or personality...

We have a genius over here. Inferior, are you upset? Would you like a banana, ape? LeBron James' free agency 2010 is the most anticipated because he's the best Basketball player right now and arguably in History. Even though Magic Johnson is the best.

LeBron James 2010 free agency has come and it's the most anticipated. Why? King James. 1 point more. 1 point. That's nothing at all. Lebron gets more playmaking opportunities is because the Cavs' playbook is "Give the ball to Lebron, set him a pick, and get out of the way". Lebron pretty much runs the point. Like YS said, Russell Westbrook is there for OKC, so Durant doesn't have the ball nearly as much as Lebron, yet puts up only ONE POINT less. The West is much better than the East, in case you haven't noticed...The West's 8th seed won 50 games (and it was the Durant-led Thunder). The 4th seed in the East won 50 games...so even though Lebron has 6 or 7 years of NBA experience and Durant has like 2, Durant's team would have been the 4th seed out East). Unfortunately for Durant, his team had to face the future NBA champions, so he didn't move on.

Kevin Durant leads his team in PPG, RPG, FT% (because I don't count the 100% shooters that only took 10 FTs all season..), and was second on his team in APG.
