Who is the best young point guard in the NBA?

Rajon Rondo- terrific defender. A great rebounder for his size and position. Needs to work on his offensive game more. Doesn'r have much of a 3-point shot like the other two PG's in the disscussion. Many people take points off for him due to him playing with the Boston Three Party. Certainly got a whole lot of hype right after the playoffs. Will be a bigger player for the Celtics next year. ossible statline- 16/10/5 w/ 2 SPG

Russell Westbrook- terrific rebounder for his position. One of the most athletic players in the NBA. Has improved his passing and his free throw line jump-shot which he often uses. Plays very solid defense. Has no 3-point shot but doesn't take nearly as much as before. A very 2nd option on a team. Had his coming out party during the 2010 playoffs when he was keeping the Thunder alive in the playoff series. 17/9/5 w/ 1.5 SPG

Derrick Rose- amazing athlete. Has the potential to be a solid defender. A very explosive guy who can drive to the basket just like Westbrook. Said he worked on his 3-point shot, which I really didn't see during the FIBA World Championships. Shoots at a solid percentage and has a solid jumpshot. Has a target on his back each night being the Bull's best player but shoots at a high percentage and had a a succesfull playoffs. 20/8/4 w/ 1.1 SPG

In terms of being a player - Derrick Rose
In terms of having cool hair - Russell Westbrook

Rondo and Rose seem that will have a brighter future, but what's shocking is that in the World Championship Westbrook clearly outplayed Rose. That might be because of his great D in comparison to Rose which is below average.

Russell Westbrook will be the best out of the young point guards.

What qualifies a player as young? I consider Rondo to be the best point in the NBA period (Deron Williams right there as well)...so there's my answer.

as for rondo you put defense twice...

Rondo is a better ball-handler, passer, defender, is actually quicker than Derrick Rose. The only thing Rose has over Rondo is attacking the rim.

and dosent demand a double team and attention
as much as pierce, garnett (although he did get some attention in the playoffs)
Rose and the Bulls... who you gon double team either than Noah
who barely is a scoring threat.

No Doubt i give my defense award to Rondo, plays the man on man very well
and his iq to both create better shots for him and his team mates goes to Rondo aswell
but its like a Lebron-Kobe type debate

Lebron (Rondo) is the better all-round player, everyone loves his game but hates his personality... especially in the finals series he came out to be seen as a punk

Kobe (Rose) better scorer, everyone likes him much better

Rondo will be playing with 4 HOF's next year, so make it 4. Right? :upset:
He doesn't demand double-teams yeah ofc, but it's not like Rose gets double-teamed more than 2 times a game.
Now what about attention? If attention isn't using your best defender to guard Rondo then what's attention? Wade, Lebron, Kobe all have been asked to guard Rondo. That's what i actually call attention.

Personality or no Lebron is better than Kobe and Rondo is better than Rose. As of now. IMO or no, few people w/o being biased will say that Kobe is better than Lebron.

Durant has the best personality right? Is he better than Lebron? no

And the ex. is not even comparable. Kobe is a legend and plays for the Lakers while Lebron is a bitch according to half of the population and plays for the Miami.

Kobe is STILL better than lebron.
