they should of got a 2-man in the draft
or combo guard
atleast Sign Shannon or Dj Strawberry or something

Yeah, Brown is the odd man out now, 'cause this brings us to 11 players and the remaining two spots are supposedly earmarked for Caracter and Ebanks. Also, we now have Kobe, Vujacic, Barnes and sometimes Blake (he's played SG for stretches) at the 2, so Brown is really unnecessary...but it blows that we can't have him back. Brown is more than necessary. Sasha lost PT to Brown as did Jordan. Brown also pulled off momentum turning plays on offense and defense. Steals, blocked shots, dunks and 3's...

Shannon Brown makes bad decisions on offense a lot, but you have to be crazy not to want him back. The guy has crazy potential. If he could develop a consistent jumpshot, he would be ridiculous. He's like 6'3 and gets his head at the rim. If you have that in a dunker along with a solid jumper, he would start on almost any team.

Oh, he's very necessary to me, because of how young he is and how much more he can improve. But to Kupchak, he is indeed unnecessary-why should he go over the luxury tax to the tune of a few million dollars for a fifth SG? What's more, we aren't looking for an SG who can really help us in a couple years; we're looking for an SG who can really help us right now. Also, Sasha is in a contract year, so expect production more in tune with what he showed in '08. I really, really want Brown to stay, but all signs point to him being shown the door out of LA. Barnes is better for the Lakers than Shannon in win-now mode from both a financial and practical standpoint. Having said that, I will now go light myself on fire.
