Barnes to sign with Lakers unless Cavs up their offer; 2010 USA team's frontcourt decimated

Cavs have offered Barnes 3 years for about $3.5 million per year, but he wants more if he's going to play for a non-contender (his words, not mine CBI); otherwise, he'll take a one year, $1.7 million deal with LA.

As for the 2010 USA team...not looking so hot up front. At center, the options are Brook Lopez, JaVale McGee and Tyson Chandler. At power forward, Kevin Love, Jeff Green and Lamar Odom.

I dunno either. The thing is I never hated Artest. I was worried that he lost a step or 6, or that he'd do something stupid on the court. But I still liked Ron.

I actually don't like Barnes. I think he a fronter... acts tough... but no one is scared of him really, plays a little dirty and can take some pretty stupid shots.

But if he becomes a Laker I'm gonna' have to deal with it. He's gonna be playing behind Artest, Odom and possibly Walton... besides I'd rather the LAkers resign Shannon Brown.

Let me explain it a little bit better for you.

Toronto thought they could have signed Barnes with the MLE for about 5 million a year over 3 years. But then they realized they couldn't because they already went after Kleiza. But then both the raptors and barnes said "No worries, we can just do a sign and trade with orlando. They can sign me for 3 years 15M and trade me to you guys for almost nothing because of the trade exception you got from the Bosh trade." Only problem is.. Orlando can only sign him for 1.9M a year.

Barnes either wants money or a team that will compete for the title.
