Howard.

Howard leads Yao in almost every statistic (the only stats he doesn't is Free Throw % and Three Point %) on a better team. He also gets more points, rebounds, and blocks. Isn't that what a true center does? How about the best Field Goal % in the NBA? He is even one of the most athletic in the NBA. Defensively, there is no question that Howard is better. Offensively, Yao is a scorer, but Howard hustles, he has a patent offense, and can explode for 30-40 points. Yao is slow as hell, while Howard to me is the fastest big man today. Along with strength, Howard completely dominates. And for Visa, the post moves? Yao doesn't have moves, all he does is turn around "drop" it in.

Well SK remember in the finals when Dwight got exposed for 10 ppg? that would not happen to Yao thats why the important thing is as a center to develop some post moves to your game

in baseball pitcing is the defense. And pitching beats offense always.
(like 95 world series where the Indians had one of the best offensive teams of all time but fell to the braves who had one of the best pitching teams of all time )

Because the dfensive team is still gonna score. Guaranteed. But they're gonna hold that offenseive team to less PPG.

Isn't the point of any sport to get more points, offense, than the other team? Yeah, the better defensive team will likely win, but you never hear of a 20-21 game. It is always close to 100 points.

Defense is the epicenter of a basketball game. You have good defense, you win. Defense brings momentum, it brings runs, it brings open courts, it brings greatness. Even if you can have like... 75% FG%, yet you get scored on every possesion, how the hell will you keep your momentum up throughout the whole game?
