Will Derek Fisher come back next year... =)

First topic message reminder :

My brother was talking to me and saying he might retire. We all saw how emotional he got he was crying , he is getting the vibe Fisher might retire =( =(. What do you think.
The guy is 35 but we all know what he is capable of doing .


I hope not because Fisher won't be the only one crying ...

On a lighter note did you guys see Artest LMAO.... he made me crack up bad and his postgame antics but he was soo HAPPY! LOVED IT!.. KOBE PASSED HIM THE BALL XD .

Yeah, I know. But they still don't have any way to sign unrestricted free agents from other teams other than minimum contracts. Both exceptions are used up, and the only piece that I could see Charlotte being interested in is Luke Walton, but not at that pricetag.

True, but IF Fisher retires this year...which I doubt he will, but if he does...that's 5 million dollars off the books. I'm sure Felton would sign with the Lakers for around that price.

Apparently Fisher worked out this year, so I see no need for change until he shows that he can't play at a decent level anymore...

he'll be back and so will PJ. I don't see why Fisher would want to retire knowing he could win one more.. now it's just up to the lakers to resign him.. and I think they will.

I really, really hope that LA does not win next year. (and how will they after Dirk takes his pay cut, and the Mavs work out a sign and trade to pick up Wade, James, Bosh, Stoudemire, and Allen for Matt Carroll and draft picks?) but if they do, Fisher has got to be a part. I think he'll stay if the Zen Master stays.

Well, according to the LA Times (http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-lakers-whats-next-20100619,0,4088566.story), the Lakers will "take a look at Steve Blake, Earl Watson and Luke Ridnour." Also, Farmar says "I want to take a step forward in my career." Translation: Unless I get to start over Fisher, I'm ready to leave after winning two titles. Not sure if that's a loss or not...it'll be interesting to see how it all works out.

Steve Blake. I like him. Watson is the better defensive player of the three, but he's a bench player who wants to be a starter and I've seen him sink his teams. Luke... I'm not even gonna entertain that idea.

Yeah...I have a couple of friends that hate the Lakers, and both times that I've watched games with them, they make fun of Fisher for flopping so much. I won't lie; sometimes you can tell that he's selling it. But other times, he takes a charge like no other. And he's a classy guy with a knack for hitting big threes, so...yeah. Favorite Laker.

And as for Steve Blake, I haven't really seen him play, but I'll take it as a good sign that both you and Nick C like him.
