You know who annoys me Scott Skiles?

I mean I think he is 1 of the best defensively oriented minds currently coaching in the NBA. But, for someone who holds the NBA all-time record for most assists recorded in a single game and who played the PG position no less. Is totally blind for a better word and lacks the eye in judging what PG helps his team win and his team best responds to.

I mean last year Ramon Sessions showed that at such a young age is the perfect PG. Who looks more to distribute rather than score. He has the makings to be a top PG talent in the NBA. And showed it with his franchise best 24 assists recorded in a single game, 44 points recorded in a game, and even game winners. Yet, despite the fact that he was his team's best PG option he didn't start and get the minutes he should have gotten.

This season. BJ exploded for 55 points and after that has done not much else. His FG% is atrocious, he makes piss poor decisions, and well he is a player with the makings of a bright future. However, right now the team doesn't respond well when he's leading the point.

Meanwhile, Luke Ridnour has had a very solid season and has proved to be the better option of the 2 as PG. The team responds to him better when he's on the floor and his ability to shoot better than Jennings makes the team go more. I understand that he's peaked, but Milwaukee is on pace to keep themselves in the thick of things in terms of bottom playoff seeds go. Why not try consistently winning for a change and by trying to do so Skiles put Ridnour as the starter already. For this season he's a better option than BJ.

lol. for one, it wasn't skiles idea to not keep sessions. second, while sessions didn't start all the games, he played a high amount of minutes regardless. the fact was and is that he was just as inconsistent as is brandon jennings, without the flashiness. another thing i don't understand is, that you complain about sessions' minutes last season, and ridnour's this season. who do you think got all the starts and other minutes last season alongside sessions? it was ridnour, so i'm confused about who you really is the one getting shafted, lol. either way, ridnour is not consistent either, and sometimes is just a complete non-factor. you look at some of his stat lines, and you would think he saw 5 minutes, when he actually got 25. so as far as your criticism of skiles goes, it's way off-base, because skiles probably wouldn't be allowed to start ridnour in jennings' place anyway, because you know which player brings the fans to the building? jennings.

What about Ridnour?


If you were to catch a Bucks game and my cousin a very adamant Bucks supporter has stated that the team responds better to Ridnour than BJ at the point. Ridnour has outperformed BJ a lot this season and is a much better shooter than BJ. No questions about it. BJ has a lot of talent and Ridnour is at his peak, but right now shouldn't he do the right thing and try to win rather than develop BJ's raw talent? I mean it's the least he can do with the season his best player Andrew Bogut is having. He's even protected himself from injuries this season for the most part.

I never said Skiles is to blame for not keeping Sessions. And Sessions's FG% sometimes matched BJ's, but his leadership ability, way to run the offense, and on the ball d were very consistent all year round. My knock is that Skiles threw Sessions under the bus last year for Ridnour when the team responded better with Ridnour. Maybe because he may have wanted vet leadership in leading the team.

Now he's doing the opposite Ridnour has proved to be the better bet at point at least this season as opposed to Jennings. Yet, he's throwing Ridnour under a bus and moving for developing Jennings now as opposed to trying to do what's better for the team and stringing together some wins.

Jennings does bring fans, but at this point of his career he doesn't bring winning. Ridnour is a much better shooter than Jennings. Not as great as a offensive threat, but a decent one who has been fairly consistent this season. Much more than Jennings. Not to mention at this point of his career he's a better distributor than Jennings combine the fact that his ability to hit shots better than Jennings spreads the floor more a bit. The Bucks are more in their element whenever Ridnour is in the game and Jennings sits. I think Ridour has done enough to get his starting position back. The only dead on balls consistent player that they have is Bogut. He's their franchise player with Redd's stock plummeting. And that's scary cause Bogut has been injury prone and not that consistent all of these years. Yet, this year although he's not quite there yet he's been pretty consistent and healthy.

sessions and jennings aren't the same player...why should they be treated the same?

I'm up and down about Skiles.

He always brings out the best in his players (first season and second), yet he also drives them insane with nit picking and throwing players under the bus.

I wish there was a middle groud with him, but he flips on his players so much that they turn on him. He been run out of every franchise he's coached by the players.

To me... The Bucks are a bad fit for him and vise versa...

The thing is that Scott plays guys that do as he ask. It doesn't matter it you dropped 50pts or 20+ ast. he's gonna play the guys he likes at the moment. He doesn't like Ridnour... but then gets good games outta him.

It's confusing as a fan so it must be even more confusing as a player.

In the team dynamic he should reward the player that the team responds to best with. By giving them more minutes. He didn't do it last year with Sessions and he isn't doing it this year with Ridour. That's pretty much what I'm saying. And it's not quite the same team as last season they're deeper and chuck full of young talent.

Ersan Ilyasova - Pretty talented player
Brandon Jennings - PG with a world of potential.
Jodie Meeks - Outside scoring threat Redd was to a lesser degree looking at it now.
Hakim Warrick - Good role player to have that can play nicely and has athleticism

I agree with Nick C Scott Skiles fits that description to a tee and Andres Nocioni complained about that as did Big Ben when he coached the Bulls.

meeks has done nothing this season and any minutes he gets in is the same as if it was bell
and most important of all, richard jefferson played in every game last season and redd played in nearly twice as many as he will this season

Charlie Villanueva is better than them, but he's been in the NBA for a few years. As has RJ he's been around. A lot of miles on them and in those miles you can see what that player can and can not do. With Charlie you see a very gifted offensive player that can rebound, but plays terrible defense. Chances are he won't ever be a good defender and his stock is level right now and he would have been overpriced to keep.

With Ersan Ilyasova. You get a guy who hasn't played since his 06 rookie season. He comes back this year shows that he is a gifted offensive talent that can also rebound, but with not much miles in his tank. And ideas start to spring up what else can he do? Can we mold him better? And then should we give him a chance? His stock isn't level it could either soar or drop given that he still is 23.

Not to mention trading away those fat overpriced contracts of player much or less full of no surprises in their games to give. For young players full of surprises as well as out of stocked ones that serve well as expiring contract/cap relief, like Thomas, Stack, etc. I say the franchise made the right choice and look better than last years team.

And I'm not saying Sessions would be better for this team. I said Sessions last year over Ridnour (who started) would have been better for the team than Ridnour. Just like this year Ridnour would be better for the team than Jennings (who starts).

Bucks also have Delfy this year. Delfy is a nice and capable player to have the guy can score. And Charlie Bell is a good player he is also capable. They aren't standouts, but they are good players that help their teams and would receive good minutes on more than most other teams. Delfy beat Manu Ginobili in one on one's not that it matters cause Gino is the far superior player, but Delfy is a good player. Argentina is proud to have Delfy as our Next Manu. We'd still be 1 of the best basketball countries worldwide w.o. Manu and our aging stars cause Argentina has good recruiting and Delfy has performed wonderfully on superstar level in the Olympic Games as well as other International competitions for Argentina.

im sorry, but the team is better w/ less talent w/ jennings at point. what is so different from last year that sessions would only have been better then? essentially you have said sessions > ridnour and ridnour > jennings, all within the span of a single year. its not as if any of these players is worse than they were before, so i really don't see ur argument here. maybe skiles does have a curious rotation that changes a lot, but this is a poor example, because jennings should start, and it wasn't necessary that sessions do so.

as far as Ilyasova, like you said, Villanueva was better. the whole argument of no surprises is about the stupidest thing i've ever heard. does kobe surprise us anymore? no, not really. is he still an amazing basketball player? of course. a better player is a better player, surprises or not. the team had more talent around the point guards last season. they're better this season. the obvious difference is brandon jennings, but go ahead and completely ignore all of that, lol.

Bell was there last season, and Delfino is still a major downgrade from Jefferson. Jennings, while he's an inconsistent scorer, fills the seats, and has actually done a pretty good job overall. Ridnour has had some good games, but he can be an absolute non-factor. Start Jennings, because it's not only better for the future of the team, but better for now as well.

Who is to say that Ilyasova won't be a better player than Villanueva? Have you seen Ilyasova play? The guy can go and can only get better. Whereas, can you actually say Villanueva can get better? Ilyasova has the ability to become better than Villanueva ever was.

The team responds much better when Ridnour is on the floor. If you were to look at their games most of the runs they make is when Jennings is sitting out and Ridnour's ability to shoot and as of right now better passing capabilities opens up the floor and the team plays freer more in tune basketball.

Jennings has also proved to be a non-factor and outside of the fact that he fills the stat sheets more than Ridnour doesn't mean everything. Ridnour fits best when the team is performing. I'm sure a lot of PG's can fill the stat sheets more than others on their team, but that doesn't mean that they're starting over them now does it?

i don't care if Ilyasova will be better or not. we're talking as of now. jennings has done a pretty decent job w/ what he's had to work with. have you also noticed that ridnour actually plays HIS best basketball when BOTH he and jennings are on the floor? jennings gets a LOT of attention from the defense, unlike ridnour, which is why he is able to help the team so much. ridnour actually gets to see open shots, while jennings' good looks are few and far between.

Ridnour is not the answer. The Bucks have many more problems than just who's starting at the point. They'd lose at the same rate regardless of who is playing the point.

Ilyasova is a good player. Probably more versitle than Charlie... but he is limited.

The Bucks overachieved at the beginning of the season, but are now showing who they are... a bottom barrel team.
