Should NBA teams mandate a post game handshake after games?

Playing sports as a little kid playing baseball, I always had a post game handshake in the name of sportsmanship whether my team won or lost. The same goes for basketball. In high school, same thing happens in post game situations, as well as college.

In the pros, I see WNBA teams do this after every game, but in the NBA it's not done. We do see some of these post game exchanges on an individual basis. Given that NBA players are role models for young boys and girls, shouldn't we mandate a post game handshake after every game? It's not that hard to do folks.

Some of you guys can argue that after a buzzer beater emotions could be high that teams forget to do it, or that it could spark a fight but fights can start at any time. If a team member wants to fight in the post game moments no matter what league it is, he or she shouldn't be playing on that team, period.

As little as it sounds, I think it should be in the next NBA CBA. What do you think about post game handshakes (where both teams get in a line and shake hands after the game? I think it's clear what I believe.

Should we have the winning team's players just sock the losing players in the mouth or something? This is something I can deal with personally. The only player who I can see being against this is LeBron because he doesn't want to shake hands after he loses a game.

Because in college they are grown..and whats the point anyway? a phony handshake..big deal..and some words get said during those hand shakes that can start trouble..I remember when I was still playing boys and girls club football for fort washington and during the lineup somebody said something like "whats good 75"..obviously in a confrontational manner and a fight followed. Not saying the pros would conduct themselves in that manner but it does give people a chance to run off at the mouth.

I don't think its particularly necessary.

Courtesy/manners should be common sense; not something that is forced by the league.
Players win the sportsmanship award for a reason...because they go out of their way to show respect towards their team mates/opponents. Why is actions of sportsmanship all the sudden mandated?
