| 1) The fact that his Mavericks are currently #2 in the Western Conference. 2) The fact that Dirk Nowitzki is having his more efficient season yet. 3) The fact that w/o Dirk Nowitzki the Mavericks would be out of the playoffs race.
Honorable Mentions: Derrick Rose, Dwight Howard

| Rose and Dwight are candidates in Dirk's MVP campaign? Retard.
Dirk's scoring is down. His defensive rebounding is down. His offensive rebounding is waaaaaay down. And yet the Mavs are beasting....which can only mean that he has a ton of help around him. And using your own logic....he is thus disqualified from winning the MVP

| Dirk is averaging:
1.9 PPG less than last season 1.0 RPG less than last season 0.1 APG less than last season 0.4 SPG less than last season 0.3 BPG less than last season 4.7% field goal shooting higher than last season 0.2% three point shooting less than last season 3.3% free throw shooting less than last season
Tyson Chandler is giving a defensive post presence and rebounding. He's averaging under 1 RPG under a double double and shooting over 60% in the shots he does take. He's the biggest factor in the turnaround for the Mavs IMO

| Mavs are 3rd now...not bad, but not good enough for Dirk to win MVP. His rebounding, steals, and blocks are all at their lowest marks since his rookie or sophomore seasons. He's been asked to do one thing this year and that's shoot the ball (though he has done it very well). You don't hand out MVP awards for that. So by traditional measurements he doesn't deserve it, and he also doesn't deserve it based off of talent (where the best player would get the MVP, though that wouldn't happen anyway).
His campaign pretty much ended when he missed that stretch of games. Early in the season, it would have been hard not to give it to him, but the team isn't doing as well, he's not doing as well, and he's been injured. No MVP for Dirk. He's barely even in the top 10.

| Howards a beast since the all-star break 23ppg 15rpg 3bpg
Rose has been very consistent from the start of the season and his team is now 1st in the east
if Howard and Magic go on a tear which i know they wont but is possible i believe Howard should be mvp

| But there are better
Derrick Rose and Dwight Howard
Case for D-Rose (others will probably come up with better but when we use your logic we get this)
Fact 1:The Chicago Bulls are now the 1st seed in the Eastern Conference Fact 2:Derrick Rose is having his best season yet Fact 3:Bulls without D-Rose could not move higher than 8th seed and it's a bigger possibility, that they'll be the worst team of the EC Fact 4:Derrick Rose's assists the Bulls in nearly 50% of their plays Fact 5:Only player that's top 10 in both assists and points Fact 6:No one in the Bulls can create their own shot
