| Yao Ming. :SMH:
Even Carmelo being an All-Star starter is questionable. How about Kevin Love or Blake Griffin? Or a PF..

Simple, start Dirk, move Carmelo to the bench, put Gasol or Duncan at C.

| It's an All Star game... we the fans picked the starters. Yao is still really popular and it's nice to see that he is still getting honored since he has been a good player throughout his career...
Two guards, Two forwards, and a center for each team.. Power or Small forward, Point or Off guard, don't care. There's usually a rotation change a few minutes in anyway, and the teams hardly play defense.

| Why do you have to pick positions? they should just have the most vote getters start... lol why not have 4 guards and 1 forward? lol its an All-Star game...
Popovich better choose Griffin for the bench ! he just better !!!!! if he dosent it will add more points to why i hate the San Antonio Spurs.
and who do we have for the East bench?
the celtic big 4 + bosh and horford? anyone agree... who else? :S east is weak this year with choices

| Fuck this shit..
Rose really deserved the spot tho. Maybe Rondo over D.Wade but D.Wade is 2 popular.
And Amare finally took the spot after trailing 200k votes.

| Rose deserves the starting spot, for sure
Rondo is fine coming from the bench as well.
Overall,it should be a great All-Star Game
How about the All-Star Reserves?Did Aldridge make the cut?

| If they just took him off the ballot, this wouldn't be a problem.
I don't see how they didn't put guys who wee actually playing [Millsap for an example] on the ballot.. but leave a guy on who's out for the year.
makes no sense.

| I think we're forgetting that it's fans choice of who goes to the All-Star game. Yao Ming has one of the largest populations worldwide so no doubt about it that he gets voted even if he is injured (he shouldn't have made it on the ballot though, I don't think people would be smart enough to write him in).
I think the East makes sense, and showcases the East's true talent. I think Rose has been playing amazing and with Rondo coming off the bench, thats pretty unstoppable.
West makes no sense to me overall, I know that Carmelo has such a high voting percentage since he has such a large fan base, but to me he should be coming off the bench. Chris Paul has been playing well this year, but I don't think hes outplayed D-Will, Westbrook, or Monta Ellis at his time at PG.
To me it should look a little something like this, as if it were a depth chart:
PG: Deron Williams/Russell Westbrook/Chris Paul SG: Kobe Bryant/Monta Ellis/Manu Ginobili SF: Kevin Durant/Carmelo Anthony PF: Blake Griffin/Kevin Love/Dirk Nowtizki (He was injured for a while this season) C: NeNe (You can't expect Carmelo to do everything/Pau Gasol/Tim Duncan/
It'd be an odd team chemistry-wise, but I think it'd be a pretty sweet line up and showcases the most talented in the West without the fan vote.

| Melo may not even be on the team for the west by the time the all-star game comes around. | |

Very true, although I don't see him leaving this season. you don't? I think the Nuggets will almost be forced to trade Melo because they don't wanna risk losing him for nothing. but the Nuggets are asking for too much in return... so it'll be hard to trade for him. there's only 3 weeks left [I think] until the trade deadline... so they gotta do it fast haha
