Lebron James goes down injured, what happens to the NBA?

Obviously it affects the Cavs record and performance. But I think it'd also affect the whole market of the NBA. People pay to see him play, and if he wasn't there, it'd be a different story. What do you think?

Yes there wouldnt that much media attention and the kobe lebron hype would come down big

the games wouldnt bas much fun either because all fans like to see Great players performing with their teams.....it makes the whole NBA exciting

Trust me, I would not be surprised if the NBA finds some other rival to Kobe if Lebron does go down. It wouldn't be shocking if he was pitted against Carmelo or Dwight or any other player who is at the top of their game. Yes, it would hurt the NBA somewhat financially but knowing them, they would come up with some sort of band-aid solution to the problem.

Yeah I agree Spurs Raptors Fan. They'd play up on some new angle with Melo and Dwight or some other duo.

David Stern shuts down the NBA due to "terrorist threats" and "coincidentally", the threats stop right when Lebron is 100%, and the NBA starts again.

No more Kobe-LeBron puppets, every Cavs fan immediately moans when the Cavs don't win the championship that 'we would've won if we'd had LeBron' (no one will ever know if that's true), and the playoff race becomes much less exciting with just the Celtics and Magic as the dominant teams out East. I'd be most interested in seeing if it affects offers at all in the summer of 2010; it may be the first time in NBA history that a guy with a torn ACL gets offered max contracts from multiple teams, or it may be that teams with cap room end up focusing on Bosh, Wade and the others.
