| I'm still shocked looking back they weren't the 8th seed and somehow managed to get 7th with a 39-43 record.
PG. STEPHON MARBURY - 19.8 PPG/9.3 APG SG. PENNY HARDAWAY - 9.6 PPG/4.5 RPG/1.9 APG SF. TIM THOMAS - 15.8 PPG/4.8 RPG (Injured in the playoffs), so SHANDON ANDERSON - 7.9 PPG (Replacement) PF. KURT THOMAS - 11.1 PPG/8.3 RPG C. NAZR MOHAMMED - 9.1 PPG/7.7 RPG 6. Othella Harrington - 4.6 PPG 7. Dikembe Mutombo - 8.7 PPG/7 RPG 8. Vin Baker - 6.6 PPG/4.1 RPG 9. DeMarr Johnson - 5.4 PPG 10. Frank Williams - 3.9 PPG 11. Moochie Norris - 4.3 PPG 12. Michael Sweetney - 4.3 PPG
I'm saying that in the 50 games Allan Houston played that season where he was averaging his typical 20+ for the season along with help from Kurt Thomas was the only reason why they even made the playoffs. A combination of the Marbury trade halfway through the season & injuring himself dropped his average to 18+ a game and then he was injured for the season ever since then.

| Tony, it would take me weeks of searching to find a worse team LOL. That is a great find ahahaha.
The one thing that skews this is, the fact that then, Marbury was still GREAT. But the res of that team is trash.

| Yeah he was, but it was before the trade that we made halfway that the Knicks were playing their best basketball of that particular season. When we got him Knicks did enough to get in, but chem was shot. Not to mention that Allan Houston who carried the team went down for the season.
Before the season started the Knicks traded away Latrell Sprewell in a 4 way deal between NY, Atlanta, Philadelphia, and Minnesota. Where Spree went to Minnesota and the Knicks got Keith Van Horn from Philadelphia *yikes*. Then we traded Van Horn to Milwaukee midway through the season for Tim Thomas.
A day into the NBA season the Knicks traded cash considerations for Nazr Mohammed
Midway through the season NY traded away Antonio McDyess and Howard Eisley for Stephon Marbury, Penny Hardaway, and Cezary Trybanski. Then traded away Charlie Ward for Moochie Norris.
Shandon Anderson, Othella Harrington, Dikembe Mutombo, DeMarr Johnson, and Vin Baker were off season FA acquisitions and Mike Sweetney and Frank Williams were that years draft picks.
The genius of Isiah Thomas's GM skills!!!

| Good job Isiah for running down the Knicks franchise. How do you trade away McDyess and Sprewell for some scrubs? | |

| I would take the Raptors over the Knicks any day of the year
In fact, I would probably take the UConn Huskies over the Knicks...
Or the Windsor Locks High School Raiders...

| Just like Lebron scored 52 points on the Knicks, and Kobe scored 61 on them as well...oh wait, Wade also scored 55 points...on your Knicks.
All within the same season...
(sorry to Tony cause I respect you and all)

| You're right, their amazing defense and ability to shut down any team any given night is just unstoppable.
I would score -13 on the Knicks

| It's as simple as this
Defensively = Knicks suck Offensively = We are 1 of the best in the NBA, the best offensive team in the East Overall = Put these 2 together & they can surprise people for a bottom playoff spot

| The east has the pacers, wizards and orlando. These are easily the top 3 Offensive teams in the east. | |

| Indiana was outscored by NY a year ago, so was Orlando. Washington could very well be better than NY offensively, but Gilbert Arenas is hell bent on distributing more it seems. The Knicks have the system to score more than all and we had the most 3 point field goals made last year. Scored 127-130+ PPG on more than 1 occasion and dropped 117 and 127 on a losing effort (1 of which Kobe dropped 61 on us (117). | |

| Like many people say the Knicks have the ultimate roster of fantasy players. They will get their stats and give up a hell of a lot of stats to opposing team players, so any player with any real fantasy value will have a feast against NY. | |

| It doesn't matter that NY outscored them, consistently over a season idiana has the highest PPG average out of any team. | |

| Yes Indiana is a good team, which NY beat last year 2.
Anyways, I see this honestly Indiana, NY, and Charlotte (maybe) will be better than Miami and Philadelphia mark my words!!!

| I don't care about Dwyane Wade him or not they aren't going to have the season they had last year again this year and mostly that is because I do not see Wade having the season he did last year, this year. He is a great player, but never in his career did he put up last year's numbers and he's injury prone and still hasn't proved he can overcome that consistently. Look at what happened after he won a NBA Finals (the biggest milestone an NBA player can achieve) what happened a year later he got injured and they got swept by the Bulls. | |
