The vinny delnegro debate!

Nickc made me think about this. Tell me if you are "pro-del negro" or not. My view is; He doesn't have enough of a record to really rate him negatively.. or positively really... but if he gets any type of review it should only be good,cuz i mean...he did takle a 33 win team to 41 wins.

In all fairness he is a decent coach, nothing special but better than alot of other coaches in the league. I mean when u think about it he has done some great things with Chicago. He was able to develop a number one draft pick Rose (while Beasly, number 2, didnt live up to expectations.) 2 playoff appearances, 1 of them they took the celts to 7 games which is impressive and in all fairness they are the type of team that shouldnt have been able to keep up with the celts let alone take them to 7 games. After that they made the playoffs again only to loose to cleveland, but hey they at least gave it their all.

Pro-Del Negro

To me, he is not a bad coach.
He is alright - but not a HOFer kind of coach just yet (won't immediately rule him out as incompetent).

I think he is one of those coaches you hire when you are looking to rebuild your team and bring them back into the playoff picture. With regards to going deeper into the playoffs and becoming a championship, I do not think he is at that level yet where he is capable of doing so (unless he lucks out and coaches a championship caliber team where "great" coaching isn't as necessary). He is young though for a coach, so he has plenty of time to gain meaningful coaching experience. And now that he will be coaching a Western Conference team this season (which has more competition), he'll have more opportunities to learn how to be a better coach.

Then again, I am not a Bulls fan so my opinion of him could be somewhat "incorrect". I know people like Nenad/Taste have their own views which may be more valid since they watch alot more Bulls games than myself.

He's okay. The players liked him, but that's cuz he wasn't too hard on them. That ended up hurting the bulls in a few games.

Some of the games the Bulls lost was on the players. They missed easy shots and sometimes they just weren't better than the other team. Other times, Vinny lost us the games by either leaving guys out there too long, or leaving them on the bench too long. Vinny actually did that A LOT and it was very annoying. You can tell he was a young coach. I feel like if we didn't have Noah, there would have been no one on the team to get the team pumped up... cuz Vinny couldn't really do that either.

but...the Bulls had an average team, with an average coach and we finished with an average record.

I'm not Pro or anti Vinny.
