21. Bruce Boudreau – Capitals Head Coach
The Caps head coach is the man who helped get us our first President’s Cup this past season when he ended up with the best Regular Season in the NHL. Boudreau is also adept at making great commercials for the local Mercedes Benz dealer in nearby Arlington, VA.
He was key in turning around the 2007-08 season which turned from a season that was heading toward another year without playoffs to their first Southeast Division Title since the 2000-2001 season. And of course last year we did get the #1 seed in the playoffs, even if we didn’t win the Cup.
22. Julie Plank – Mystics Head Coach
In two years, Plank has improved the Mystics to a 16-18 season in 2009 (after the 10-24 loss 2008 campaign) to at least a 21 win campaign this year. What makes the 2010 campaign so much better was because she did this without the franchise player in Alana Beard; Crystal Langhorne made some sick improvements from 2008 to 2009 and from 2009 to 2010 in her play; and the Mystics won most of their games with nine players this season. Plank also has a knack for getting the right mix of players at the right time and never panics. My pick for the 2010 WNBA Coach of the year, hands down.
23. Chipotle Burrito Dash
It’s almost amazing how much people jump up and down just to get a chance to get a free burrito at Wizards and Caps games.
24. Gallery Place
Want to catch a movie after a game? Get a bite to eat or want to get some drinks? Grab some ice cream? Bowl a couple strikes? It’s all here at this shopping complex located next to the Verizon Center. It's actually connected to the Verizon Center as a matter of fact!
25. Ringling Brothers Circus
I’m not the biggest fan of the circus, but it’s held every year and it forces the Caps and the Wizards on a long road trip usually around March of each year. I did see it a couple times in my lifetime, and I do like the lion and tiger shows the most. I don't know where this pic comes from, but I don't know how they can get tigers to just be rather docile for these shows!
