| The West is so stocked with talent this season, that it might end up being more about match-ups in the playoffs than it is about overall talent. The teams in the 2nd through 8th seeds are separated by a total of *gasp* just 4 games. In the East, that amount separates 1st and 2nd, 2nd and 3rd, 4th and 5th, and 7th and 8th. | |

To me, there won't be such a thing as an "upset" in the 1st round of the playoffs (for the Western Conference anyway) since the West is so stacked. Well, I guess if the Lakers were to get eliminated in the first round; that would be considered an upset...that's it though. yea, i would probably consider the lakers getting beat the lone upset in the first round, even if all 4 lower seeds won. they're playing poorly right now, but they've been the top team in the west all season. there really hasn't been any challenge to that. | |
