Gilbert trade rumors?

Numerous sites are saying that the Wizards want to trade Gilbert Arenas away because we've seen him miss clutch free throws and is not clicking in Flip's offense.

Realistically, I just can't buy the fact that Arenas will get traded to ANY team this year because of his three knee surgeries, and essentially, two lost seasons.

Not surprisingly, Ernie Grunfeld is getting a lot of calls for Caron or Antawn by Boston, Cleveland, Phoenix, and other true title contenders while we get expiring contracts for either great (Ray Allen) or declining (Shaq) players, who will probably leave DC after this year anyway....

Back to the point. Do you think any other team wants Arenas given the surgeries? I'd say no. If they were to get him and he gets hurt again, they have to put up with the problem and Washington would get the better end of the deal because they guy who ends up with the Wizards at the very least would just be let go after 2009-2010.. If Arenas is on the trade block now, it's then pretty obvious that he is the new Juwan Howard, and if we suck in future years after his departure, he'll be booed more than Juwan, Kwame, AND LeBron combined.

I doubt any team would trade for arenas. There is so much uncertainty with his health that it would be a big risk for any elite team or title contender to make.

No one wants him...and we shouldnt trade him!

Wow that's a strong statement Visa...I don't think either of the Big Three are garbage players. They're just not cutting it with the NBa given their expectations right now. Caron would fit in well in Philly, maybe San Antonio, Dallas, etc. among others, though I can see him fit in well in Cleveland and Orlando though the Magic prob. don't need to deal anytime soon. Antawn can fit in almost anywhere.

oh, and uh...about the trade rumors. Gil is always part of trade rumors even during his stint with us, he's just one of those guys. Don't expect him to go anywhere.
