New Orleans Hornets fire coach Byron Scott after a 3-6 start

In 2008 Byron Scott was coach of the year in his 2nd job as a head coach He's previously taken the New Jersey Nets to the 2002 and 2003 NBA Finals

what do you think about the firing?

I don't know if it was such a good idea.
Considering the lack of depth of the Hornets roster which is somewhat beyond his control.
At the same time though, I have seen coaches that are successful in making adjustments when their roster is depleted.
So it is a mixed reaction for me.
Byron isn't a bad coach; so maybe he will land a job somewhere else with a small market/marginal playoffs team or become an analyst...either way, I don't think we have seen the last of Scott just yet in the public eye.

In pro sports, coaches are hired to be fired.

I guess Flip Saunders is next..

its been just announced that GM Jeff Bowers will be the head coach.

Judging by how poorly hes done with personnel(other than drafting Chris Paul) this team is doomed and may miss the playoffs. Doesnt like a fit at coach to me

That's bad and one more thing,when a GM is a coach to his teams the chances of the team beeing great are very small

Poppovich came and made the Spurs organization succesfull,he drafted Tim Duncan,made a good system under Tim and Robinson,plus put some roles on other players and put himself a good reputation as succesfull coach.

Well, they're in a rebuilding stage so no ones expecting them to be a 45-50 win team...

I think it was a little early...

Besides...I would much rather Byron Scott coach...than whoever that douche of a GM is...(who is the one who actually created the mess)

Another dumb move by the organization....

You can't expect a team to win when you don't have real good talent....

and found out Tim Floyd is the assistant coach as well.

Tim Floyd's always been a sucky coach both in the NCAAs and NBA!! LOL!
