What do people have against Paul Pierce?

I think he is outstanding and soon to be 1st ballot Hall of Famer. He is 4th all-time on a storied franchise such as Boston in scoring, the only Boston Celtic to lead the NBA in total points and free throws made for a season, and the guy has a heapful of heart. He plays with passion.

I mean this guy has always been underrated before KG and Ray Allen came along. He carried some less than mediocre Boston teams to the playoffs and even took them to the ECF and was huge in forcing a game 7 against the NJ Nets in the ECF, a series that would stand the test of time as being the biggest defecit a team climb out of to win a game. Pierce was stone cold in that and he has been stone cold deadly against some of the NBA's biggest names.

He has made a career of being fearless has played an entire season after being stabbed at a nightclub during the off-season. Got his teeth knocked out by Amar'e Stoudamire, and he always put his body on the line for loose balls. Not to mention he has always been a very good defender even before KG's presence has made us realize it. He was vastly underrated. I mean he held career averages of 25 PPG (same as Kobe) and then he had to sacrafice his averages for the good of his team after KG and Ray came along. He has a championship to show for it and could still be a 25+ player if in some other circumstances, but why would he want to be if he is on a championship contending team? I think he's the 2nd best SF in the NBA behind LBJ23 and that's not saying that he can't upstage or go toe to toe against LBJ23 either. I just don't understand all the dislike for the guy and this is coming from a person that doesn't like Boston at all for being Atlantic Division rivals, but KG, Ray, and Pierce "The Truth" are all worthy of admiration.

He's a good player....

He's top 20 to me.

And I don't see a lot of people hating him, other than YS and MVP.

He's one of the smartest, one of the most experienced, and one of the most clutch players today. His defense is lockdown, shutdown. He is a really good shooter and passer. An amazing leader. And he's above average rebounding for a Small Forward/Shooting Guard.

It's the Kobe bandwagon fans who do. Not even the Lakers fans as a whole hate him as "Princess Paulie" or whatever. The Lakers fans, the die hards will always boo Pierce no matter what because he's a Celtic, and he pwned them in 2008 with Kobe, injured knee or not. But it's the Kobe bandwagon that emasculates the poor guy.

I agree with what everyone is saying with regards to his skills/abilities; that cannot be denied at all. Also, I do give him props for sticking with his team throgh the good and the rough patches as well (before Ray/KG came into the picture). Still, there is just something about him that I dislike. For me, he does exude this aura of arrogance that just totally turns me off away from him. So, I am not a huge fan of the guy...

He's a great player, no doubt. But he's a Celtic, he faked an injury, and he's an absolute scumbag of a person. I wonder how much that cosmetic surgery cost to repair his gang fight scars?

he was limping the whole game after he came back out, Even if it was a sprain it hurts like hell at first, youv'e obviously never had an injury on the court!

Yeah, I just sprained my ankle on the court while trying to block a 300 pound guy hahaha. But anyways it's different cause Pierce faked it, I mean if someone got hurt so bad that they had to be taken off the court then most of the time they wouldn't be out for an hour, they'd be out for like at least 2-3 weeks.

I don't think he faked it, i mean what would be the point?

I'm actually a big fan of Pierce.

I mean, other than House and maybe Daniels he's my favorite Celtic.

I thnk he has the best mid-range game in the league.. and stuff.

But I can understand why ppl DON'T like him.
