than why has Kobe never won defensive player of the year,and Jordan has?

Up until last year, Kobe had never won MVP, and Steve Nash had two of them.....so is Stave Nash better than Kobe?

Here is the real comparison of Kobe and MJ

Scoring:MJ (highest career ppg and playoff ppg)
Passing:MJ(lets just say kobe isnt a good passer.....mj had a pretty high assist average early on.)
Rebounding:MJ(both were 2 guards but MJ was much better)
On ball Defense:MJ(I think both are kinda overrated here but jordan played more phisical so im giving this to him)
Off ball Defense:MJ....by a mile

Ask urself. Yes MJ never won till the 90's but he had to go up against the utah jazz which contained Stockton(2nd best PG) and Malone (2nd best PF),the Orlando magic with Shaq....a young shaq along with peny.....better than the orlando magic now,Patrick Ewing a top 10 center who was great on offense and defense and his knicks, a strong supersonic team with kemp and payton,etc.

Kobe Bryant had to go up against the NJNs.....the Philidelphia Iversons......the defenceless suns(who they lost to...) and the only REAL comptetion was maybe SA,Boston and.......

This is just an overview of everything...
INCLUDING DEFENSE.....

Michael = DPOY in an era with great and I mean GREAT defensive players (Gary Payton, David Robinson, Sidney Moncrief, even Scottie Pippen).

KB = no DPOY's in an era that can't be compared at all defensively to the 80's-90's

I am sorry but I think Kobe is quite overrated defensively.
When I think of excellent defensive players, Kobe is the last player to come to mind.
I am still surprised that he was chosen over Wade for all-defensive team because I don't think that Kobe plays much defense; that is just my perspective though.

The only reason kobe made it into those teams were cause this era lacks great defensive SG's.....Raja Bell is the only person who comes to mind....and maybe wade(snubbed)
