Blazers trade Jerryd Bayless to the New Orleans Hornets

for the rights to a first round pick.

I don't get why NO did this. Why trade Collison then end up trading for Bayless?

who did they end up getting for Collison? Ariza? They could hae traded a future 1st round pick for an average SF and keep collison.

I don't think these are the moves CP had in mind.

Yep maybe they did it now because they don't know whether or not CP wil remain with them through his contract. And figured Bayless shows potential. And why not pair him up now with CP3 so he can learn from him and maybe one day take over. Getting rid of a 1st round pick though wasn't the safest bet though

exactly. So why not keep Collison? Collison has a bunch of potential, he's aleady learned things from CP and he averaged 20/10 [I think] for a month when CP was out!

This trade might have happened because Hornet's management didn't trust Chris Paul completely, so giving up rights to a 1st rounder for someone with potential, was a futile decision. I really think trading away Darren Collison who averaged 20/10 after Chris Paul's absence for an overrated Trevor Ariza, was stupid.

They could have gotten a lot more for DC.

and what about trading for a PF/C? After West and Okafor... they don't have much depth downlow. Aaron gray? DJ mbenga? Jason smith?

He didn't see major minutes in the team so it was the best move for him and his potential to develop somewhere else...

So the new and improved Hornets are:

PG: Chris Paul/Jerryd Bayless
SG: Marcus Thornton/Marco Bellineli
SF: Trevor Ariza/Peja Stojakivic
PF: David West/DJ Mbenga
C: Emeka Okafur/Aaron Gray

Woah. CP3 sure aint leavin now.

Hornets will finish top 3 in the West.With the roster they have,they have become championship contenders now for sure.Not those overrated Heat,Lakers,Celtics,Magic or those overhyped Blazers,Thunder..or those grandfathers from the Spurs...

Pff,this will be enough to keep CP3 safe in New Orleans...
