Answer every question with an All-Time answer, and an Active answer.

Best Player? Magic Johnson. Only player who could play all five postions and dominate.

Best Coach?Chuck Daly. Coached the most mixed matched players in the NBA to two rings. All of his players on every team he's ever coached would take a bullet for the man. His passion and coaching. His flair. His soundbites. He could switch defense to offense on the fly and more than anything else... he was a father to his players. Everyone loved playing for Chuck.

Best Defender? Dennis Rodman tied with Hakeem Olajuwon. Both were never the tallest or strongest at their position, but both never let a play get past them. Rodman in particular studied the way each teammates rebound came off the rim... he memorized how each players shot would come off the rim. He guarded Shaq to Gary Payton and never complained. The best defenders in the game don't care what position they're defending. They just do what needs to be done.

Best Team (One Season)? Fuck 72 -10... that was versus a watered down league that was still filling out its rosters. The 85-86 Celtics were the best team ever. Bar none.

Best Rebounder? Dennis Rodman. 6'7" 228 pounds and outworked everyone. Every game. 7x rebounding champ and 7x frist team All-Defense. Weird as hell, but when the whistle blew he gave you more than almost any player on the court. Did the dirty work and loved it.

Best Passer? John Stockton. Magic had the flair. John had the fundementals and if you were on a elevator with him you'd never know he was a NBA player.

Best Duo? Jordan/Pippen. Watching them play together is watching two players that are in perfect harmony of each others game.

Best Trio? Magic, Worthy, Kareem. All shared Finals MVP awards. All knew their roles... none gave a shit who won the MVP as long as they won.

Best Shooter?... Hmm... thats a long list dude. Miller, Jordan, Ray Allen, Jerry West... thats just too long of a list.

Smartest NBA Player? Bill Russell. Beat you with mind games then beat with the game.

Most Clutch NBA Player? Robert Horry. Nuff' said.

Most Under-Rated Player? Again... a really really really long list.

Most Over-Rated Player?Derrick Coleman. Chris Webber. Bob Cousy. Pete Maravich. Charles Barkley. Wilt Chamberlain. Oscar Roberson. Karl Malone... and so many more.. Welcome to the list... LeBron James.

Yeah, I know. I know shit about history in NBA NBA Survey Icon_cry

It's not that...

You know basketball. So it's not that. It's that Magic could've scored 30 a game. Eveyone that ever watched him play knows that. Magic Johnson defered to Kareem... even when he played center when Jabbar was injured in the deciding game 6 vs. Philly... But he played to his teammates strengths. He made the game easier for everyone, even at the expense of his own numbers. To me that is the greatest thing a player can do. Sacrifice to win. When he became the "MAN" in L.A. he never changed. He still just played his game in the most competitive era in NBA history.

I've never been a fan of who's the greatest talk. I just think that there are greats, not greater than... I'm just trying to fill out your list with what I've seen and my opinion.

I'd be wrong myself to say that any great is better than the other. My belief is that there is no player better than Earvin Johnson. That's me though. It's semi-biased. I was never a fan of Jordan. For the first 7 years of Mike's career he was about himself. Fuck the team it's all about me. When he finally gave in to the triangle and Phil Jackson's philosophy he became the player that everyone reverees today. Magic got that from the get go. It took Jordan a while to catch on to that.

That for me gives Magic the edge. He just wanted to win.

Well, for one, that just changes everything I've known about NBA history. Never knew that about Magic or Jordan. Although I still think that Jordan had the better talent to score, to defend, to hustle. And although Magic still gets him with ball handling, with rebounding, with passing, I see Jordan having the better skillset. Just, like I said, Magic is the better overall player. He's the better teammate. The better person in general. And with that, I'd take a Magic-based team over a Jordan-based team any day, only to the fact that, like you said, Magic will not only bring his skills to your team, but he will improve pretty much everyone else's skills on the team.

Like, for example, if I had to choose between Gilbert Arenas and, let's say, Mo Williams. Obviously, Arenas has the better skillset, yet I'd still take Mo. Mo, because he doesn't create problems for himself, for his teammates, or his team in general. I'm not saying Jordan created problems for everyone, but I'd balance a player's ability to be a good teammate to the point where it matters the same as a player's skill.

P.S., Mo Williams is an amazing teammate. Always cared for the other players on the team.

I can help you with that

It depends on how do you look at things and for who are you making your case

If i were to praise Magic as the G.O.A.T,i would use his passing, making team mates better, winning(best percent ever),versatility, triple doubles, impact and resume as my main arguments

If i were to praise Jordan as the G.O.A.T,i would use his competitiveness, clutch factor, resume, stats, impact, winning and legacy

And so on SK.Depends on who are you really making case for

It's ok Nick

Magic Johnson can be argued as the G.O.A.T because he's an all time great.I really want to hear guys with polite opinion on this topic like when they have answers like Kareem/Magic/Russell are the best of all time and really others. To me,it won't be a crime if you praise LeBron as the game's greatest when it's all said and done and to say that there's no better than Shaq,Timmy or Kobe through the history of the game

I love talking about history,it's just players from different eras with different playing styles, impact are compared in different way

Best Player?:Currently:LeBron James, because he's mix of all time great basketball players, who has the ability to make his team mates better and has amazing court vision like Magic, body of Karl Malone and ability to finish near to the basket like Jordan. He will soon become winner and champion and will finish as one of the biggest legends ever

All time,is really matter of opinion, case can be made for Jordan,MAgic,Bird,Russell,Shaq,Timmy etc,i will go with Shaq

Best Coach?[b]:I'm going with Phil Jackson for both currently and all time.Although he had benifit out of some players, still they weren't champions without him.MJ,Shaq,Kobe when they were without Jackson they didn't win anything, insert the Zen Master and bam, everybody happy.Nuff said

Best Defender?Bill Russell. He wasn't the tallest, strongest on his position and in his era.He was simply skilled defender, superb in the post,on his man,as a presence and was the best shot blocker of all time because he mastered timing, pure block and blocking it for himself/team mates. He changed the game for that and that's what makes him the game's top defender of all time.Hakeem Olajuwon and Dennis Rodman come in second/third

Right now, even though my fave is Oden,i'm going to give the edge to Howard

Best Team (One Season)?Well,it's almost obvious. The Chicago Bulls of all time because of 72-10,plus a title and the Lakers now

Best Rebounder?Wilt Chamberlain. This guy was a monster on the boards, fantastic vertical jump, strength, long hands made him a threat on the boards any time and he had the stamina to play over 45 minutes per game in his career to get the amount of rebounds he had.He played great rebounders along side him in his career such as Russell,Thurmond,Cowens,Kareem but no one won 11 rebound titles like he did...

As of presently,it's Dwight Howard. The Orlando's Magic center who is consider to be the most fantastic in the league despite beeing only what 24,is almost as a machine who has consistently led the league in it and sets franchise's and NBA records for that.

Best Passer?Although Stockton holds the all time records, the flair that Magic had,how he made his team mates better and put fear in the players/teams alone with passing, made him the top choice for this

As of now,it's Rondo or Nash.I say Rondo

Best Duo?The best duo now is Pau Gasol and Kobe Bryant, all time:Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen

Best Trio?Kobe Bryant,Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom as of now, through the history it's Showtime baby,Magic/Kareem and Worthy

Best Shooter?Steve Nash,this guy's percents are fantastic.Of all time,Larry "Legend" Bird

Smartest NBA Player?Right now,Tim Duncan. He's on the decline,is starting to lose his skills, relies on fundamentals and pure IQ which still make him a 20/10 threat in the late stages of his career

As for all time,it's between the 2 Celtics,Russell and Bird,i'm going to give the edge to Larry because aside of IQ and brain,he couldn't relie on anything else

Most Clutch NBA Player? As of now Kobe Bryant, not just for making clutch shots but for winning as well

As of all time,Bill Russell and Michael Jordan share #1

Most Under-Rated Player?As of now,i think it's Carmelo Anthony

As of all time Wes Unseld,Artis Gilmore and so on.Most underrated superstars are Shaq,Timmy,Walton and Kareem easily

Most Over-Rated Player?Andre Iggy and as for all time, none
