| I say 1976.
Magic is the best player out of both draft classes.. but Johnson, english, dantley and parish were beasts!! 79' as a whole wouldn't be able to stop them | |

| 76 for me tooooo.
Magic was beast, but he won't be able to beat a whole team of HOF material. The only really good player 79 had was Magic anyways. | |

| 79' FTW! .... because someone didn't check their history. Larry's rights where selected in 78' as the 6th pick... but he played his senior year and came into the same 79' draft as Magic Johnson. The Celtics retained his rights. He also won the 1979 ROY award.
Shortly after the Bird Collegiate Rule was written so that teams couldn't draft a player while they were still attending college.

| yeah.. but he was still part of the 78 draft class..
I put luis scola in the 2002 draft class.. but he didn't start playing until 2007.
When you look at Birds transactions, there's only 1. "Drafted by the Boston Celtics in the first round [Number 6] in the 1978 Draft."
The wolves drafted Rubio in 09. but he won't play with them until '11... but he still was part of the 09 draft class.

| Team 1976, just barely. I love Magic Johnson, Bill Laimbeer, and Cliff Robinson but 1976 has a lot more player depth.
Edit: Damn I'm thinking 1989 Clifford Robinson. I'm all for 76' now. | |
