| That must be some kind of buzz passed on $15 million for 1 yr and decided to opt out of SA. Again someone pass that to Eddy Curry ASAP. | |

| Wait. So now RJ is a free agent too?
Dumbass.
He actually made Joe Johnson vs. the Magic look consistent comparatively.

| Love you RJ but you made a very good decision by opting out. Now if Colangelo does a sign and trade with the RIGHT team...this will be a great weekend!!!! | |

| Wonder how much Salmons would want? Get rid of Mason now & bring in Salmons to do Mason's role way better and even play som d too. What you think of that homie? | |

| Mason is a FA as well! Swweet, I would love Salmons to come join the Spurs...so then we would have two shooters in James Anderson as well as Salmons...damn, I wish he would consider joining the Spurs...and if that were to happen, that he could fit in with the Spurs. | |

Off the bench for really cheap. Sure. For what he's probably looking to get paid and a starting job? No way. Someone will pick him up for sure. He'll get a contract worth more than the 15 mil he just dropped... but I think he's a last resort we-got-money-holy-shit-no-big-name-free-agent-signed-with-us player.

| T-MAC could be a possibility no way should he be looking for the 23 million contract he would have until 12:01 EST & if he ever wants to win a ring, scratch that advance past the 2nd Rd he should look at established contenders. | |

why do you say that? Or is it just because he just doesn't fit in with the Spurs? whoa! signed on just in time to repl to this haha. well, RJ was going to make 15.2M next season. If he had another bad season -- which would have been likely because he didn't fit well in Pop's system -- teams would have thought that he was just washed up. But he isn't. Also, under the new CBA, players might not have guaranteed contracts. That's why guys like Dirk and PIerce opted out. So they can sign a long term contract under this bargaining agreement. Even if RJ lands a 5 year 35-40 million dollar deal guaranteed money, that would be a lot more money than he would get next offseason. He was thinking about the money past next season. So he made a smart move imo.

He gets more money and the Spurs don't have to deal with his inability to adapt to their system lol.

Yeah, he def. helped the Spurs out. But he is going to get his money somewhere.. The season before the Spurs, he averaged 19.6 PPG with the Bucks. A GM will easily throw 8 million a year at him. I'll guess the Clippers or Wolves. I mean if Gooden can get over 6 million a year, RJ can get 8

| I agree...for some reason, I can also see him ending up on the Clippers/Wolves after most of the FAs have finally signed a contract to different teams. True...I think the GMswho signs him will disregard his stint with the Spurs and fork over lots of money his way anyway. | |

| yup. And the Clips/Wolves really wanted Gay because they both need a SF. At least they think they do. So they'll both be going after RJ when things settle down.
I wouldnt pay him though
