C-Ant is a choker who disappears in the playoff. He was lucky enough that Andre Miller brought them to the playoff in his rookie year, then Allen Iverson carried the team and now Chauncey Billups is leading the team. With Anthony, the Nuggets lost 4 of 5 to a bunch of lottery teams when Billups was injured. When Anthony was injured, Billups led the Nuggets to a win against the Lakers. Who is more important to the team? Nuff said.

Well it's not like he's not worth the dough, but the Nuggets needs some major help.

Billups age is catching up to him. So are Kenyon's injuries. Birdman was m'eh... J.R. Smith is J.R. Smith.

I think its ridiculous to suggest that Billups is worth more than Carmelo to the Nuggets.
There is no argument that Billups is the leader of the team....but the Nugs would be nowhere near as good as they are without Melo.

And Melo is not really a playoff choker...he's got good numbers in the playoffs too.
For example...just cuz KG got nowhere in the playoffs with the Wolves doesn't mean he's a playoff choker.

Take it Carmelo. Take it. Don't be like LeBron and make a big show about it. Let people know where your loyalties lie. You already know that no one else can offer you more money, and instead of signing a massive deal, you still get to pick and choose how long you stay there if things don't work out. Denver is already capable of being a 55 win team, but can also cut ties with aging large contracts if necessary. Martin is expiring this coming season, and so is J.R. Smith. Chauncey Billups has a team option that can be dropped. The team has a lot of options and has grown itself into a little more of a recognizable franchise. It is willing to spend money, and make moves to go for it all.

Just wonder if the extension takes him to 2014 or 2015. I'm guessing it removes the 2012 player option, though.

Melo is one of the most exciting players to watch imo, i would love to have him in my team.

Melo chokes in the playoffs? Over his regular season career, he's averaged 25/6/3 on 46% shooting, 31% 3P shooting, and 80% FT shooting.

Over his playoff career, he's averaged 25/7/3 on 43% shooting, 34% 3P shooting, and 82% FT shooting.

Same PPG, more RPG, same APG, 3% decrease in FG%, 3% increase in 3P shooting, and 2% increase in FT shooting

In the playoffs, he produces identical numbers to the regular season (including 31 PPG in last year's playoffs...)

Melo, please stick with Denver. Don't let your head swell to impossible proportions like LeBron has. Just take the sure thing a lead the Nuggets to a chip.

He KNOWS that Denver will do good with him, and he'll do good with Denver. It's already shown. And the teammates he has in Denver is up there with, or above, any other set of teammates in any other city, that has enough money to sign him.

Carmelo should just take it. Nuggets are a team that will make it to the playoffs years beyond, and with Carmelo has been such a big part of the team. Stay with the Nuggets, and become the franchise player of that team. Don't pull a LeBron and cause such drama with other teams that it just becomes annoying in the long run. I think when George Karl is back, and done with all his treatments and with a few good moves with the Nuggets they could be title contenders in a few years to come.

Melo doesn't choke in the playoffs, but his team very well does.

Also, I think the Carmelo is in the top 3 of most fun players to watch and hoping that he takes the contract extension.
