okay.... The players want to keep their guaranteed contracts, they want to be able to sign for longer years [like 7 year contracts], they want to keep the soft cap so they can sign for big deals with the team they're on, or if they're traded they can still keep their big contracts.
The owners want less years on contracts [like 4-5 years], the want less money guaranteed on contracts [instead of your whole contract being guaranteed, only a portion of it is] and they want a hard cap.
Owners claim that 22/30 teams lost money.
An average NBA player makes 5.8 million a year. That's more than any other profession in the world.
players wanna continue that, obviously... but owners can't afford it.
