| http://thrashers.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=564242&navid=DL|ATL|homeNot a done deal yet, but if the sale is ratified by 3/4's of the 30 NHL owners, then the Thrashers will move to Winnipeg, Manitoba. Winnipeg previously hosted the Jets franchise before it moved to Phoenix where it is now known as the Coyotes. The reason for this sale is because the Atlanta Spirit ownership has not been profitable, with the Thrashers losing as much as 30 million in the last couple years. They also own the Atlanta Hawks, and are looking to sell them as well, not to mention the Philips Arena which they also own. | |
