| In my opinion no. I think he'll get there and while he's the clear cut MVP this season, I don't see him as being a top 2/top 3 player in the NBA because he's only been this good for one season and he hasn't proven anything in the playoffs yet (albeit, he hasn't had many chances). I heard Kenny Smith say this a couple days ago and I didn't agree. Still don't. Derrick Rose = MVP, not top 3 player.
BQ: Durant or Rose? | |

| I honestly haven't heard many people say Rose is a top 3 player in the NBA. Some do.. yeah.. and maybe some young people on Y!A and sports forums... but overall, I haven't seen/heard people say Rose is a top 3 player.
No one on here has even called Rose a top 5 player in the NBA.

| I wouldn't. Top 10, yeah. Top 5's pushing it for me, but I could definitely see where you'd be coming from if you said that. But top 3...no. | |

| Kenny Smith is a total spewer at times. He just says things without actually thinking first; so what comes out of his mouth at times can come across as bold.
Despite that; he could be on to something. I wanna see what Rose does in the playoffs this season before I draw conclusions.

Sure, Rose will have his games where he looks just as good as anyone in the league, and I agree that I can see why some people say he's a top 3 player or whatever. The only thing I have a problem with is when people say it when it's not in the moment - most people say Rose is a top 3 player while watching, post game, or whatever - but what pisses me off is when people say he's just as good as LeBron or Kobe etc. regularly. I just don't view Rose as someone at that level yet. P.S., on an unrelated note, how you likin' C.J. Watson? We loved him here in G.S. but it seems like he hasn't been having a great season over there in Chi-Town.

| I almost never hear people say Rose is as good as LBJ and Kobe. Even people on Chicago sports stations don't say he's as good as them. They would go as far as saying he's the best PG in the league and a top 10 player though.
CJ? ehh... I expected more outta him. When he's out there and missing shots, it's like we don't even have a PG out on the floor when Rose is on the bench cuz he doesn't really do anything else.

| MVP-wise, yes he should.
Player-wise... :LMFAO:
I'll keep it pretty simple..he can't drive like Lebron. He can't shoot like Kobe. His range (as a PG) is a couple feet inside the three point line. He's a beast, but no way he is on Kobe's level or Lebron's level.
BQ: Durant. Same reasons

BQ: Durant. Same reasons He doesn't get the same treatment as LeBron James. Kobe Bryant's jump-shot has declined, mainly due to it being somewhat athleticism.

| Is he a better player than both? No Has he been dominating at a much higher level than them this season? Yes
I dont see any problem with him being compared to lebron and kobe right now cause he has been playing a lot better than both of them and he is also the youngest out of them all
I know it may sound unfair for those who are fans of Lebron and Kobe...but seriously everyone is always looking for the next big thing

| It's just the MVP award.
It's just for the regular season.
I don't think he's on the same level as LeBron or Kobe, but I don't think what he and his team has accomplished should be overlooked. He isn't talked about on a LBJ, KB level... that's just hype... He's never been out of the first round... so no... he's not on that level.
LeBron at his best/worst at least made the Finals. Kobe has 5 rings.
But this season, Rose has my vote for MVP.

| I would say you can't consider him there yet as most say
As an MVP definately yes. As a Top 10 player you have to, Top 5 is debatable
People also forgot he's only in his 3rd year and his 21. He's not even close to his prime yet and will have many many great years to come in this league
Without a consisent healthy roster going 50-19 is incredible. He's elevated his team a step. That's what great players are supposed to do

| Fast Don't Lie. Rose's skillset don't lie. His numbers don't lie. And his MVP credentials don't lie
But peanut butter. That does lie
