Same goes for Lebron. There was no way he deserved the 1st All NBA defensive team selection over Batier or Artest.

These days players make the All-NBA Teams/All-Defensive Teams based on their reputation and popularity

MJ won DPOY in 1988... his 4th year in the league. Yeah he had a lot of fans then, but not as many as when he start winning rings.

he praised for his D because he was good on D. There's a lot of good players that don't get praised for their D because they just weren't that great at it.

Jordans defense is overhyped..well on here..reasonable minds that differ though, it can stay that way.

anybody that has seens him play defense and anybody that knows what a good defender looks like would say that MJ was a very good defender.

If anything... for a while early in MJ's career, people only talked about his O... not his D.

every team in this draft game will have a good offense... because all of these players are great.

but not all of these teams will have a great D.

...Judging from the last few draft games, all teams won't have great offense. Theres usually a 50/50 split in who tries for offense and who goes for defensive teams.
