Four ranked teams drop to open the College Basketball season(2 of them in upsets)

In the 1st significant day of the College Basketball season

#3 Kansas State defeats #23 Virginia Tech at home in the 1st matchup between ranked teams this year, and in the first Top 10 power matchup of the year #5 Ohio State tops #10 Florida on the road in a game that had a crowd atmosphere like it was a late season game

and in the upset of the day in Louisville upsets #18 Butler in their new downtown arena and to cap the night San Diego State upsets #12 Gonzaga on the road

UConn beat #8 Kentucky 84-67. in the EA Sports Maui Invitational in another matchup of Calipari vs. Calhoun. or Calhoun vs. Calipari. Huskies are now 5-0 after last year's mediocre season which was further marred by NCAA violations. They also beat Michigan State earlier 70-67, so UConn should be ranked easily now.

#24 Tennessee beat #7 Villanova 78-68 in the NIT Finals yesterday. The Vols certainly showing perseverance after they too faced NCAA violations that their coach admitted to.

Not just was UConn ranked easily but in the Coaches Poll they skyrocketed to #9

Butler lost to Evansville so they're not Top 25 ranked anymore too

Butler lacks alot on offense. Other than Matt Howard who gets into foul trouble alot and Shelvin Mack they lack scorers. They're really missing Gordon Hayward, Willie Veasley, and Avery Jukes it looks like so far
