| http://voices.washingtonpost.com/wizardsinsider/2010/09/wizards-move-to-patriot-center.htmlAs you guys know after seeing my numerous post on the team here in DC, the Wizards have experienced a lot of changes. First, a complete blow up of the team's old core. Second, a complete change in the face of the franchise from Gilbert to John. And of course, the completion of the Ted Leonsis takeover. Big Ted once again pulled a rabbit out of the hat, with the Wizards becoming the first NBA team to do a tradition at many (if not most) NCAA teams.... MIDNIGHT MADNESS!! On Tuesday, September 28 at 12 AM, we will have our own Midnight Madness to kick off training camp, see the new team, and see some alley oop dunks from John to JaVale. This will be real cool, because most of all, this event is F-R-E-E!!!!! And in another great move by Ted's group, training camp will now be in the DC area, at George Mason University, about 20 miles west of the District! Though this is big among Wizards fans, it isn't really big news in DC unfortunately, because it's Dallas week for the Redskins who will probably still manage to get their asses handed to them on NBC Sunday Night Football. | |

| Wow that's really cool.
I'm sure part of it is to reconnect with the fan base and to introduce a new era of Washington basketball, but it's a brilliant idea.
I definitely think it should be done around the league. | |
