Favorite rappers?

I dunno about top 5 overall because I don't listen to all the underground people and I'm sure their music is better...but my favorites are:

1. Drake
2. T.I.
3. Eminem
4. Lil Wayne
5. idk...is Usher a rapper? Hahahaha

Mainstream rap is on a serious decline but if I had to choose from today's rappers...I would choose:

B.O.B.
Lupe Fiasco
Kanye West (Power was kinda weak though)

Yeah, to be honest, there are no top 5 current "rappers", because mainstream rap today in my mind isn't really considered rap. Underground rap is rising, but it will never reach the level that it did during the early-mid 90's.

I agree with everyone about mainstream rap declining.

There are a few legit rappers left in mainstream rap IMO.

Also, how could I forget the MF's!

MF Grimm and MF Doom. Those guys are gooooooooooooood.

It was very terrible in the 90's aswell. I think it was best in the early 2000's. the problem with rap now is the rappers,because the content of there music is still the same...people just see through the fake gangsta shit nowadays.

I am guessing you weren't a fan of Biggie, 2pac, Fugees, Outkast, Wu Tang, Bone Thugs, Nas, LL then?

and I agree...most rap songs today sound the exact same to me...today's party rap songs annoy me as well...miss the days of Nelly haha.

Heeeey. I liked Fugees...but I preferred Lauryn Hill's solo work.
I don't care for Biggie at all as well.
Rap isn't my favourite genre of music but I think the best rap music came from the 90s and early 2000s like you had mentioned.

Top 5 current mainstream rappers, like people who are doing it all right now:

1. Rick Ross, just dropped Teflon Don. Most improved rapper in the past two years.
2. Eminem, Recovery is showing a different side of Eminem (non-Illuminati maybe?)
3. Drake, has all the girls going crazy over Thank Me Later.
4. Big Boi, true definition of Southern rap with Sir Lucious Leftfoot
5. B.o.B, finally has the fan base he deserves. Sold out to the mainstream, but The Adventures of Bobby Ray has radio hit after hit.

I just watched Music Industry Exposed yesterday, so everything I thought about Jay-Z, NAS, Eminem, and other rappers kind of went down.
