| Interesting question. You should have put in the history part but what ever
Q1:I think the Lakers had the better players, not that the Celtics didn't have legends of their own but aside Larry Bird,Bill Russell who can be argued as the G.O.A.T,there aren't other strong competitors for that.John Havlicek can be argued in the Top 10(Bill Simmons might make a case for him) but the others, can't.There are players like McHale,Cowens,Cousy who can be placed in the Top 30 at least.
But on the Lakers,it's different story. You have Magic Johnson,Kareem Abdul Jabbar,Shaquille O'Neal,Kobe Bryant who all of them can be argued as the G.O.A.T,not to forget that there were the likes of Baylor,West who can also be placed among the Top 10 and other among the 50 greatest in Worthy,Mikan and so on
Q2:Celtics have more NBA Titles won,Lakers have won more Conference and Division titles, have better winning percent however in the finals head to head they have a score of 9-3 against Boston.Case can be made for LA but i think Boston is still the top team in the league's history.LA will more likely win a championship in the next 10-15 years so they will be probably better

| my bad bout history
i agree with the players part..because lakers got great players in there leage
but i dissagree with celtics bring more winninger because they only have one more championship..witch we may tie next season thats all but we have more conference and division tittles and winning percentage so i give the lakers nod on both..

Magic or Cousey? Magic Kobe or Pierce? Kobe Baylor or Bird? Bird O'Neal or KG? KG for me. Jabbar or Russell? Can go both ways, tie for me. West or McHale? 2nd Tie.

| I said take out Accomplishment's. I really believe is better, KG had way more talent and with a right situtation he would have won as much as Shaq won. KG in his prime. 24ppg/14rpg/5asp/2.5bpg an around 1.5 spg.

| If you're doing match-ups, than here goes from what I think: PG: JOHNSON > Cousy SG: BRYANT > Pierce SF: Baylor < BIRD PF: O'Neal < GARNETT C: JABBAR >< RUSSELL 6: West < McHALE Only reason I say that is because an in his prime Garnett can take any offensive player from PG to C and slow them down or shut them down. The other way around, O'Neal wouldn't come close to being able to catch up to KG. That would be like Usain Bolt vs Yao Ming. Imo, with all of that, Boston would be dominant inside, while Lakers have the agility to play big (Magic CAN play any position, Kobe's a good rebounder, Baylor's an AMAZING rebounder) or play small (Magic, Kobe, and Baylor can play well on offense and defense at the wings and point, obviously). As for the bench, I really didn't know much about either one of them, until I realized Jerry West was a great SCORER, while McHale was a great rebounder, scorer, passer, and defender. Strategy wise? Idk, I can see how Boston would murder LA in this game, while at the same time how LA would kill Boston in this game. | |

| On paper from first glance at it the Lakers would hurt the Celtics. Like, it would be emberassing. Then you realize Russell can cancel Kareem out easily, Garnett one on one with O'Neal offense and defense would win, Bird is flat out better than Baylor, and Magic and Kobe in the backcourt are the only problems they'd have. | |

| Since Defense wins Champs, i would go with Lakers for 1 game and Celtics for a series. Celtics had always good defensive teams. Cousey is the only problem here, Magic can rape him very easily. Kobe will have to face a bigger opponent. Pierce is a good defender at his prime. Bird is a great defender, he used his IQ to play defense and he knew what his opponent will do before. He was a very smart player. KG one of the best defensive PF's, nuff said. And Russell probably the best defender ever. | |

| Yeah, Pierce was a great defender in his prime but I still don't think he can beat out Kobe Bryant at his best. | |

| yea..but your forgetting WILT CHAMBERLAIN..the dude ave.50...halff of your teams scoring...so the inside game isnt all thaat good for celtics
shaq:30 ppg 14 rpg kareem:38,000+ points Wilt chamberlain:50 points...
those are know as the top dominating big man in history so i dont think celtics would win on the inside game..than you add magic jhonson who some people debate as the second best player and you add kobe who in his prime had the ability too take over the game..and jery west a scorer the logo..
i cant see lakers losing that one

they lost in the finals 15 times.. they lost to the celtics 9 times..

| Actually I will comment on this thread..
Cousy is overrated... He played in the 50's...nuff said. He wouldn't last in this league right now...
And neither would Russell... Best defensive player, my ass...
And why the hell is KG on the all-celtics team? I don't know about you guys...but he'll always be a 'Wolf to me... Same with Ray....he's only played 3 yrs with the Celtics...WTF with them being on the all-celtics team. That is totally undermining the players who actually played for a while with the Celtics...
