| I've heard that a lot in the past and I'm hearing it a lot now. "Amare was only good in PHO cuz of Nash and will suck in NY cuz he won't have nash with him."
What about Nash though?
When he played in Dallas under Don Nelson, he played in a high tempo offense with a very good PF in Dirk. Sound familiar? Yeah, cuz he played/plays in a high tempo offense in PHO under Dantoni and now alvin gentry with a very good PF in Amare.
But when you look at Nash's stats in Dallas, they were above average. Nothing special though. But when he went to PHO to play with Amare and get coached by Dantoni, suddenly Nash became the best PG in the NBA. The season before Nash got to PHO, Amare was a solid player already, but still very young.
Last season when Porter was coaching the Suns for the first half of the season, he was running a slower paced offense. Nash really struggled with that. But amare was still a solid player. Then Gentry takes over and returns the fast tempo O and Nash is okay again... and Amare was still good.
So this is what I have come up with. amare is a very good player with or without Nash. His job Is easier with Nash though. Also, Nash can't really play in a slower paced offense.
Since Amare is going to NY and will be coached by dantoni, I have no doubt in my mind that Amare will put up huge numbers... even without Nash.

| Amare- big man wise arguably the best "finisher" in the league. Great "hands", moves well without the ball, can finish with force, jumps hella high. I still think he is gonna put up good numbers in NYK, maybe worse maybe better cause Nash was a great player that really gave him alot of good shot oppurtunities but now he is on a team where he is really the only great player on the team....(no offense.) Despite all this Amare is bad at creating his own shot, its been a while since he was actually working on the post by himself.
Personally I think Amare will still put up good numbers cause of the fact that his whole team will be trying to get him the ball. The thing im most interested in though is if we can maybe see Amare ccreating his own shot on the post though.

I want to see him pass and to get double figure rebounds for the first time in his career... I'm pretty sre he'll get the double double, but to make NY a better team he's going to have to learn how to pass with all the double teaming he could receive.
