| That's pretty reasonable. 11/5 for 6 mill. Anyway, they need to get him back with all this Amare nonsense going on. | |

| All my pennies for your thoughts on Frye (I don't like pennies; they're like having just a little bit left on those cards at arcades-essentially worthless, but you can't bring yourself to throw money away)? | |

LMAO! Basically. I Think Frye is more effective with having a low post presence like Amar'e. Signing Frye to that long of a contract for his outside shooting and avg rebounding is a waste of money. Nash sets up Frye perfectly, but part of what makes him so open is Amar'e on the block. Without a low post threat you can have that extra defender shadow Frye or just keep one of your bigger perimeter players on him when he's playing beyond the arc. Which is often. Even worse if Frye goes into one of his shooting slumps you have one less threat to get the offensive rebound because one of your rebounders is out on the perimeter shooting 3's. Phoenix was 7 in rebounding last year 14 in offensive rebounds (most of that is Amar'e and Lopez... actually mostly it's Amar'e)... they are losing their best rebounder. Hakeem Warrick, even as athletic as he is, isn't a player you want to give long minutes to. Nor is he the answer to Phoenix's loss in rebounding. Also I've never been a fan of Channing Frye. He's an okay player who will now probably start. It's better to have him coming off the bench for his scoring and rebounding he provides... he's like Rasheed Wallace without the post game, defense and technicals... but he's not as effective for long stretches. He's also going to be exposed defensively because he really is not a threat. He gets a lot of fouls... more minutes means stretches when you can't even use him. I haven't read about any team knocking down Frye's door to sign him... I think keeping the contract shorter would've been a better idea. | |
